He looked uncomfortable, like he wished he could explain but didn't want to

"ook then, but, things changed as I had a 'calming era' as the farmer said, so he caught me to help others that he was planning on catching-" she heard a gate opening -"I'll explain more later!" she told the stallion as she ran off to get to the little one before he did something he would regret.

Lion bolted toward the sound of the gate opening. It was so close... he ran faster and faster , ramming the gate as hard as possible. It popped off its hinges, careening outward and he shot forward like a heat seeking missile out of a rocket launcher.

He vaguely heard Rose shout, but just ran faster. He was finally free... only a couple yards and he would be away from the farm forever.

she looked at him and called out, "pride wants to talk to you!"

Lion almost fell head over heels. He screeched to a stop, amazed. That was his one and only mistake. The farmer came out with a sleep dart gun... and his world went black.

The farmer used three horses to drag Lion back into the pen.. - The stallion awoke with groan. His whole side hurt where he had fallen. Had fallen? Lion jerked upright and staggered up, looking around wildly. His heart plummeted all the way down into the earth's core, feeling like it was burning in molten lava. He was back in the pen. He felt broken, like he had no purpose for life anymore. Lion dropped his head down silently, his ears pinned back and his face showing plain sorrow. He failed.
