Sage could feel a light blush spread across his face as the girl started directing him around, and he blushed even harder as he reached out to gently take hold of the girls waist. He didn't really mind, but this was the closest he'd ever gotten to the girl, and his heart was speeding up every second he stayed there. "Like this," he hummed, cocking his head curiously. He was curious about all of this, and he wanted to learn... especially with the girl. He liked it...holding her...but they'd only just met, so was it too much to ask to hold her at other times? He wasn't sure, and he didn't really want to ask. But that was fine...he could enjoy this for now.

Claudia nodded, her cheeks still slightly pink. "Good." she wrapped her free arm around the arm she wasn't holding the hand of, "Now just follow my footsteps." Claudia looked Sage in the eyes before starting the dance...step forward with left, side with right, feet together, step back and continue. Claudia was a bit surprised, and proud of herself for remembering what the steps were, they weren't the easiest things to learn. She continued dancing, looking up at Sage and giving him a slight smile, it felt natural to be dancing with him, for some reason she liked being close to him, it made her feel safe...happy.

Sage chuckled and nodded, looking down at Claudia's feet for a moment until he got the hang of the dance. Then he looked up at the girl and grinned back at her. He had never thought he'd enjoy dancing, which was why he never chose to learn...but this was fun. Maybe it was just because it was with Claudia, or maybe it was because he had a bit of a drink in his system. Either way, he was more than content to twirl around with the girl and hold her for a while as they danced. The music was cheerful, and it was so much better than the environment he was used to. He wished it could stay like this forever.

Claudia laughed when the music started getting a bit faster and Sage twirled her, "You're great at this! Much better than when I danced for the first time.". She continued dancing for a while until she froze, her heart stopped beating for a moment. The man she had seen in the Tavern was here, he was scanning the crowded room. Claudia quickly pulled Sage off of the dance floor, she looked at him worriedly, then remembered she hadn't told him about the man. Claudia led Sage into a corner, and whispered, "There's apparently a monster hunter...um hunting me, well I don't know if he's hunting me exactly but he was at the Tavern. Hes here now.". Claudia's heart raced, she didn't know what to say, she looked over Sages shoulder, the man was coming slowly closer, not yet aware of where the two were.

Sage chuckled at the girl's first comment, then gave her a concerned look when she froze and pulled him over to the corner. He frowned slightly and looked back over the crowd once she's told him about the man, until he recognized a face from the tavern. "The man with the weird looking hat?" He wrinkled his nose slightly and hugged out a breath. "Can you fight," he asked the girl. "Like at all?" (Short, I'm out) Edited at January 22, 2023 03:12 PM by NightClan

"I mean, not real-" Claudia was caught off guard whenever Mr.Lopex came bustling up to them. "You two have to leave, there is a man here looking for you, doesn't look like the friendliest chap. There is a back exit, go through there, I might be able to buy you some time, go!". Claudia nodded thanks to the man before taking Sage's hand, and speed-walking to find the exit. Once she found it she went outside, gently pulling Sage behind her. She sighed once she got outside, relieved. Claudia looked at Sage and gave him a shaky laugh, I mean, they were safe for a bit at least. She couldn't help what she did next, Claudia quickly wrapped her arms around Sage, pulling him into a hug. *Your okay^^* Edited at January 22, 2023 03:22 PM by Burgundy Estate

Sage got enough of what the girl had started to say that he knew she wouldn't really be able to defend herself if the man did find her. He obviously knew who she was and what she was...and where she was staying. He thanked Mr. Lopex and ran after the girl, stopping next to her. He was surprised when she hugged him, though he felt a large grin growing on his face as he hugged her back. "What's this all about," he chuckled. Then he sobered up a bit. "I should teach you some self defense. Get you a weapon at the very least," he hummed. "But for now, it's getting late, so why don't we get back before it gets dark, hmm?"

"Yes...I would think that to be a great idea." Claudia chuckled before starting to walk to the Tavern, looking over at Sage at points and blushing. She didn't really know why she had hugged him...she just liked being close to him. It made her have butterfly's in her stomach every time she saw him, the dance they had a few moments ago was lovely...She had smiled whenever Sage suggested building up her defense, with him. Claudia was quite curious about what he would teach her, and what weapon she would end up having. Before speaking she took a quick breath in, "Sage? Have you ever felt that you have a strong connecting with someone and you think they feel the same, but are too anxious to ask them...?" Claudia turned her head, feeling her face burn.

Sage nodded and ambled after the girl willingly, a dumb grin still plastered across his face. He chuckled at the girl's question and nodded before sliding up to her and taking her hand with a wink. "If you're asking if I like you, the answer is absolutely," he chuckled. Ok, well he hadn't meant to say that, but he supposed it couldn't hurt. The longer he waited the harder it was to say something. He supposed he could thank the drink for his lose tongue, even if he wasn't actually drunk.

Claudia chuckled and shook her head, "Has the wine gotten to your head?". Her heart gave her a pang the moment she asked it, she could feel it...he was telling the truth, "Well if it hasn't...Sage, I like you too, a lot...". She looked into his eyes and smiled sheepishly, had she really just said that? It was true though, she thought he knew how she felt too, I mean...she had been giving him very bold signs. Asking him for dinner, a dance, she did wonder one thing though. Claudia blushed at the thought of them kissing, she laughed at her thought, she wouldn't be the one to kiss him, he would need to do that. It would only be fair, she thought, 'after all, I have been the one asking if he would do stuff with me.'.
