Dakota gasped and took the letter. "It's not your fault. So, was my mom still alive and she just died in the hospital? Or did she give you the letter before?" Dakota opened the letter slowly. It read,

"Thank you Jacob! I couldn't be more happy!" Dakota cried happy tears and hugged Jacob.

Jacob hugs and pulls out another one and said " as she said 1 million right here" handing her the letter and said " I hold that being closer to what happen she was alive but bearly alive once they took enough her to the hospital I help her write the letter since she could move her arm that much "

"I can't thank you enough! You know how I rescued Athena? Well I want to do that for more horses! Besides, I do have 12 more open stalls." She shrugged and smiled. "And, you could help me rescue them!" She looked at Jacob. She was turning 18 so soon! And she wasn't going to collage. She had work on the farm. Her mom always told her that 18 was a good age for her to get married at, but she didn't think that would happen. Unless it did.

Jacob laughs and said " you know I'll do anything for you and I'll help with anything "Jacob wonders how to get money to buy a ring cause he was not that strong worker but he would find a way out to do it

2 days later...

Dakota woke up. It was her birthday! She ran down the hall and out the door. She grabbed Athena, tacked her up and jumped on. They galloped down the road to Jacob's house. When Dakota got off, Athena ran to Flame's pasture. Dakota knocked on the door. When Jacob answered, she said, "Hey! Since it's my birthday, I though we could go to a horse farm and get a couple horses. Well, if you want to?" She looked at Jacob and smiled.

Jacob laughs and said " well I guess so birthday girl let's do that " he turned around to get his hat and a little box of some sort then come outside and said " are we going to right there "

"Yeah, let me get Athena really quick." Dakota shook her head and laughed. "Athena! Come here!" Athena turned around and ran towards Dakota. Dakota hopped on and waited for Jacob to get Flame. When him and Flame came, they headed out. They walked down the road to a barn with a ton of horses for sale! They walked into the barn and looked at all the horses to choose from. "Do you see any you like? I think I found one!" Dakota said pointing to a brown and white paint horse.

Jacob was looking at blanket colt and said " I like this one that one cute too " looking over at her, Jacob walks towards her and said " you 18 knew you do what you want girly" Jacob smiles

"Ok, so these two? I'll go pay." Dakota walked over to the owner and paid. They hooked the two horses on a rope and led them home. They arrived at Dakota's house and put the horses in a stall. Dakota named her's Pepper. Dakota and Jacob walked up to her house for dinner and cake.

Jacob watches her for a moment before ask " Dakota can I ask you something " Jacob looks at her and smiles folding the little box in his hand that was on his back
