Hello and welcome! This is the second RP between Hudie and BD! You know the rules, don't post unless your name is in the title! Enjoy reading, though! Plot: The two unknowingly went to HS together for junior and senior years after Dakota moved back to Tennessee after being gone for 10 years. She doesn't remember much about it. Both also used to be best friends when they were really little (Like toddlers) and forgot they knew each other. Dakota's mom didn't approve of him when they were younger, sensing they would go places... Now, they turned up at a riding school college place together, and remember each other after long talks. And, now they're dating! Hooray! (lol) | Edited at November 13, 2024 11:24 AM by Blue Diamond

Dakota pulled into the long drive, glancing at the ornate iron gates that read: "Elegance Defined Riding School" on the front. She sighed, exhausted and also relieved she wouldn't have to answer any more of her parent's excited phone calls while she was unpacking. This is my life for the next 2 years.... Oh, lord help me. Okay, eastern parking lot, spot 7, and dorm #209. Second floor. At least it's not the bottom where all the noise will be during parties. She sighed again, knowing she wouldn't be attending said parties, and she refused to join a soroity like a normal college girl. She has really just chosen this college so she could study biology and also ride her horse, Secret. Dakota parked the car and got out. I think they said stall #13? Yeah, I think that's the one. She quickly unloaded her 17hh mare, and put her into the 13th stall on the right. She wrote on the little whiteboard where her feed was kept and the feeding size along with times. Once Dakota had finished that, she put her tack and feed away. She grabbed her suitcases and backpack, hoping to not make trips back and forth from her dorm to her truck. She sighed again, relieved when she could carry everything up to the second floor and unlock the dorm's door without difficulty. She flopped her bags onto the bed and started unpacking into the dresser. She had specifically paid more to have a dorm to herself, but she wished her boyfriend were here. He's busy. He probably won't come see me. He's busy. A tear started to build up on the corner of her eye. She angrily swiped it away and continued unpacking her stuff.

Name: Elijiah Montgomery Nickname: Eli (common), Monty (by close friends) Gender: Male Age: 19 (One year older than Dakota) Appearance: - Skin Tone: Light, with a slight sun-kissed glow from working outdoors.
- Build: Tall and lean, but still strong from working on his family’s ranch. About 6'1".
- Hair: Dark brown, almost black, with natural waves. Usually kept slightly messy.
- Eyes: Dark green with flecks of hazel around the iris.
- Tattoos/Piercings: No tattoos yet, but has a small nose piercing on the left side.
- Notable Features: A slight scar on his left forearm from a horse accident during his teens. Has a habit of running his fingers through his hair when nervous or deep in thought.
Personality: - Kind-hearted: Easy-going and compassionate, especially towards animals.
- Protective: Protective of Dakota, but not possessive. He knows when to give her space but will always stand up for her.
- Adventurous: Always ready for a new challenge, whether it’s exploring a new trail or helping with a tough horse training session.
- Level-headed: Keeps his cool in stressful situations and is good at de-escalating tension.
- Sarcastic: Has a dry sense of humor, but it’s never mean-spirited. Sometimes, his sarcastic remarks are his way of deflecting deeper emotions.
- Empathetic: Can read people well, which makes him an excellent listener. He’s always there for Dakota when she needs to talk, but he also knows when she needs her space.
Family: - Parents: Both alive, but a little distant—Eli’s parents are focused on running the family farm and have always been more concerned with the business side of things than with emotions.
- Siblings: Only child, which sometimes makes him feel lonely or like he has to carry the weight of expectations alone.
- Relationship with Family: Close with his grandfather, who taught him how to ride and work with horses. His relationship with his parents is a bit strained as they didn’t understand his desire to pursue something other than farming.
Significant Other: Dakota Taylan Crush: Dakota Taylan (has been crushing on her since they met, and things have just recently evolved into a relationship). Backstory: - Grew up on a ranch in a small town. Horseback riding and working with cattle were part of daily life, and Eli was trained from a young age to run the farm with his parents.
- Moved to the nearby town for college after high school, where he met Dakota. At first, he thought she was just another girl from a big city who didn’t know much about horses, but he was quickly proven wrong.
- They bonded over their mutual love of horses, and through her, he started to see a different world outside of ranching. His family was skeptical of his decision to go to a horse college, but it was something he truly loved doing.
- Though he was initially shy about his feelings for Dakota, they eventually became inseparable after a few shared moments of vulnerability and mutual understanding.
Equine Registered Name: Blue Ridge Whisper Barn Name/Nickname: Whisper Age: 10 Gender: Stallion Breed: Quarter Horse Riding Style: Western, trained in both roping and barrel racing. Personality: - Calm and Steady: Quiet and reliable, but still full of energy when asked to perform.
- Loyal: Deeply bonded with Eli and trusts him implicitly. Can be wary of strangers but opens up to them with patience.
- Sensitive: Pays attention to even the smallest cues from Eli, which makes him a good partner in competitions and training.
- Playful: Though mostly serious, Whisper can also be a bit goofy and loves to nuzzle Eli when he’s happy.

Dakota was unpacking her things, methodically folding clothes and placing them in the dresser drawers, when she heard the faint sound of the door unlocking. She froze, expecting it to be a random student or maybe even an RA doing a round, but then a familiar voice broke the silence. "Not quite the welcome you were expecting, huh?" She spun around, her heart skipping a beat. There, standing in the doorway with a grin on his face and a duffle bag slung over his shoulder, was Elijah. Her breath caught in her throat. She hadn’t expected him to come—had actually convinced herself that he'd be too busy with his own life to visit her so soon. Her eyes widened, and for a moment, all she could do was stare at him. Then, a soft laugh escaped her lips, a mix of disbelief and relief. "I couldn’t stay away," he added with a playful smile, stepping into the room. He shrugged out of his bag, dropping it casually onto the floor. His eyes softened when they met hers, as if he'd sensed the sadness that had lingered in her expression just moments before. Dakota blinked, her chest tight. She hadn’t realized how much she’d been missing him until she saw him standing there, so close, so real. Her lips parted, but no words came. A tear, which she’d tried so hard to hide, finally slipped down her cheek. Elijah’s smile softened, and he took a step toward her. "I told you I’d come visit," he said gently, reaching out to wipe the tear away with his thumb. "And I meant it."

She hugged him, and placed her head on his chest. "Are you really here?" She asked quietly, still not believing her miracle had come to see her. "I thought you were busy doing, y'know, you things. I didn't really think you would come see me." She stepped back, and took his face in her hands. "You're flawless, as always." She murmured, "Just the way I like you." She turned around and quickly shoved her clothes into her drawer, wanting to talk to him. Once she had finished, she took his hand and led him over to her queen-sized bed. She sat down, patting the spot beside her. "How? Why? What are you doing here, Eli?" She asked him, gazing into his beautiful green eyes. "You aren't...you're not going to school here, are you? Because, if you are, now i'm kinda wishing I hadn't asked for a dorm to myself." She climbed into his lap and curled up against his chest. She snatched up the blanket that was folded nearby, and covered herself.

Eli chuckles, kissing her. "How's this for a reality check" he asks, wrapping his arms around her. "I always have time for my girl" he replies. Elijah chuckles, "Of course I'm here because I'll be attending school here. And because I wanted to be near you" he tells her, stroking her check gently. He held her close to him. "How are you doing? It's been a little while since we've seen each other" he asks.
