The plot A fantastical medieval world where kingdoms are built on the foundation of old, mystical pacts, and the lines between magic and reality blur. The Kingdom of Brackhaven, ruled by a King, is known for its vast forests, ancient ruins, and its harsh, militaristic society. The neighboring kingdom of Sylvaris, a land of beauty and intrigue, is in decline after a series of poor harvests and military defeats. The King of Sylvaris, desperate to settle an immense debt owed to Brackhaven, opens trading posts for various debts to be settled between the two regions, often paid with lives, loyalty, or service—a political and personal sacrifice meant to appease the looming threat of war.
