Name: Kennedy "Ace" Smithfield Height: 6'1 Age: 22 Gender: Male Personality: Kennedy can come off as cold and unkind at first when you meet him. He has a cold gaze that only makes people keep a good distance from him. His temper is short at times so it doesn't take much to get his blood to boil. After a while of hanging out with him though Kennedy is actually a sweet and caring person as well as stubborn and still has a attitude at times but he tones it down for people he cares about. Appearance: Kennedy face is lightly painted in freckles, his eyes are a dark grey that almost seem like a dark blue until his eyes are in direct sunlight. He has somewhat long black messy hair (long enough to the point it somewhat covers his eyes) that are frosted silver at the tips. He has a few scars that trace his arms and back from his father. Brief Backstory: Kennedy didn't have the best father growing up, he was abusive to him in drunken rage a lot of times, hence the scars that trail all over him. As Kennedy grew up he went from a sweet little boy to a cold hearted man that really didn't want anything to do with anyone, but moving on. His family were farmers so he grew up being a expert with farming and gardening. So he found a job within the castle grounds that would help him earn money to pay for his needs but also doing what he loved which was tending to the garden

Name: Astoria 'Mercy' Windsor IV Height: 5'7 Age: 19 Gender: Female Appearance: Astoria has long, slightly red tinted auburn hair that flows to about three quarters of the way down her back, as she was never allowed to cut it. She has fair, ivory colored skin that gives the impression of a flawless porcelain doll. She has pale, ice blue eyes that can seem gray at times. Personality: Astoria is the perfect princess her parents designed her to be, at first glance. Of course, that's all anyone spares her, which she is just fine with. On the surface she is a sweet, intelligent girl destined for ruling the great Empire of England. Oh, what a pile of rubbish. If anyone really puts the time in, she is quite sarcastic, almost to the point of being caustic at times. She does it all in good fun and is genuinely interested in the world around her. She makes sure to know all the staff and has made friends with as many of them as possible. She is quite loyal and will never leave a debt unpaid. Brief Backstory: Astoria had a younger brother, years ago. He was what kept her moving forward in life. His name was Henry, and he was the wittiest 11 year old there was. Everyone loved him. He made a habit of calling Astoria Mercy, which she never corrected. He died two years ago of an undiagnosed disease, while his parents were off in a parade, only the household staff and his sister by his deathbed. Astoria has never been quite the same since and refuses to speak with her parents unless strictly nescessary. Edited at June 14, 2023 10:50 PM by Widow Valley Farms

It was the crack of dawn and Mercy was already awake. Her hair was down for once, instead of in its usual braid, which was quite flattering. She was up before her parents so she could roam the castle in a blouse and PANTS for once, which was so much better than a stifling gown. She was walking with one of the maids, Alice, toward her next duty in the kitchen. That was usually where Mercy wandered in her spare time, always trying to help. She was immersed in conversation with the girl as they trotted down a flight of steps. "Really, Alice, I LIKE helping in the kitchens. It is so much more satiating than sitting on my window seat all day and doing posh little hand waves to my devoted subjects. Honestly! Now, I won't hear another word on it, and that is an order, understand?" Alice sighed. A "Fine, Mercy, but I don't know what you see in it. That's all I'll say!" She said, as Mercy opened her mouth to contradict her. A "Have you heard about the new gardener Geoffrey has hired?" Alice's eyes lit up as they always did when drama was involved. Mercy rolled her eyes. "No, but let me guess, he's like every other boy you have a crush on. Young, tall, dark haired, and strikingly handsome?" She said in a breathy tone, placing a hand on her forehead as she pretended to faint down the steps, then regained her footing to fan herself. Alice huffed. A "Well, I wouldn't KNOW because he's starting today. And I was hoping, since we're friends... you would go sneak a peek at him for me? I've got kitchen duty all day- please?!" Sorry for the long post!))

It's okay lol)) Kennedy woke a few moments before sunlight even hit the sky, usually he slept in late but now that he was starting a job at the palace grounds he needed to be up early. He got up with a small groan as he ruffled his hair around and walked over to his closet. Kennedy didn't have the best clothes since he didn't have the money to pay for a lot but they were decent so he threw on a pair of black pants and a white long sleeve baggy work shirt, looking like any other plan farmer in the town. Kennedy then threw together a small breakfast for himself and ate quickly before throwing on a pair of boots to head out the door. When he was about to head out he was greeted by his mother "Off to work?" She asked quietly as she glided quietly into the kitchen "Yes, I don't know what time I will be back but hopefully not late" Kennedy replied back to her with a rough voice, his mother nodded back in reply "Well have a good day and try not to ruin any first impressions" His mother said with a small warning tone. Kennedy huffed slightly "Not my fault if they annoy me right off the bat" He said before walking over to her and giving her a small hug "Bye mom, see you later" He said a bit more softly before heading out the door like he originally was. Kennedy went straight to the stables where a dappled buckskin andalusian stayed, he patted the horse as he pulled it out of the stall and tacked it up quickly but softly to not hurt it's back. The palace was quite far so it was faster to ride by horse to get there on time. When Kennedy finally hopped up on his horse 'Monty' the sun had already risen fully into the sky. Kennedy urged for Monty to go forward into a steady trot and within a few minutes they were in sight of the castle. Eventually they finally reached the castle grounds where Kennedy hopped off Monty and put him away in the palace stables before setting off to go find his boss Geoffrey

"Alice, I am not playing telephone with you over the new gardene-" Alice grabbed her hands. A "My lord girl, just go look at the man! You could use some sun anyway, you mule. Go smell the trees and such-" Alice pushed her toward the stairs. "Go ask Geoffrey if he's cute! Im sure Sir Grump-In-Chief will have something to say on him." Alice grabbed Mercy's hands and gave her puppy eyes. A "Please?" Mercy stared back as long as she could stand before crumpling back. "Ugh, fine. But you owe me, Alice!" She stormed up the stairs as Alice did a bit of a victory dance. A "Thank youuu!" Mercy huffed and ducked through a few doors as if she knew the maze like palace like the back of her hand. "Damn right, thank you. God, I can't believe im going to spy on the staff... what an all time low, I could be helping." She burst into the sunlit gardens and sighed, roving through the extensive gardens until she found one of her favorites. An old, majestic looking apple tree sat in the center of a circle of rosebushes lined by hedges. She stepped over the elaborately placed rock border and leapt up into the beautiful trees branches. She settled in the intersect of two large limbs, the leaves obscuring her so she was practically invisible. She reached a hand out and snatched an apple from the tree, polishing it on her pants before she took a bite. He would have to come here at some part of the day, either during the tour or otherwise to pass by to get to the equipment shed. She settled in for what she presumed would be a lengthy stakeout, pulling out a book from the satchel slung over her shoulder. At least she would be sufficiently hidden from her parents.
