Usually he's grudgingly dragged into the situation, but once in he's all in; whether it's creating sets for the local play or laying out haybales for the hay maze. After high school, he went off to university for a degree in business. While at Uni, he was able to be on the equestrian team for show jumping and a polo team at a nearby farm. Real sorry, I almost wrote a full reply and then I accidentally command-R reloaded the page thinking it was another tab -_- as you do... kill me now, I just did it again. *cries at an hour of writing down the drain* Josee | Cafe Josee Hall's day was not going well. The weather was miserable, and Josee was bored. Looking at the clock, she noted that it was almost eleven thirty, and she'd rung up a total of four orders. Of those four orders, only three included a drink of some sort. She was bored, and not only was she bored, the new and unbroken pair of shoes she'd been forced to put on that morning had just about rubbed her heels raw. Sighing, she grabbed the cloth and multi-purpose disinfectant spray and rounded the counder to find something else to clean. She'd already cleaned all of the counter tops (twice), and the seats (also twice), the door handles, fridges doors, food display doors, mircowave doors, and just able everything else she could possibly clean. She still had another hald an hour until her best friend entered for her lunch break, which was around the same time the son of the Cafe's owner walked in for his break. By the time she'd taken her time spraying and wiping all of the tables (by now they had a nice gleam to them), she looked at the clock to see that just over fifteen minutes had passed. She threw her head back and groaned, and then the bell above the door jingled. "Wow, I can almost feel the waves of fustration coming off you," Charl, Josee's best friend, said. Josee drew in a delighted breath and hugged her friend. "My dear friend, how I have longed for your arrival to by humble place of work!" Josee said, rounding the counter to put in Charl's usual order. Charl giggled and rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on. I'm sure it hasn't been that bad." She looked around and noted the lack of people in the cafe. "Or maybe it has been that bad? Wow, I haven't seen this place so empty before..." She trailed off, craning her neck to peak through the archway into the attached bookstore. Josee had heard a little more activity in there that morning, which was odd because usually it was the other way around. "It hasn't ben this empty in ages," she said with a shrug. Charl pulled a box of band-aids out of her purse and handed it to Josee, who immediately pulled her shoes and socks off to tend to her blisters. "You life-saver, you!" Josee thanked her friend as she went about doctoring herself. She was washing her hands when the bell jingled and Tanner strolled in. He looked around, also noting the emptiness. "Wow, this is a first. Hey girls, how're you two today?" Josee shrugged. "Bored as heck. I've had hardly any customers come in al morning, I've cleaned everything, and can't seem to get into my book. But Charl just arrived, you're here too now, and maybe Grey will decide to take his lunch break now as well." Tanner's eyebrows shot up. "You? Not interested in a book? I never thought I'd see the day," he feigned shock. Josee rolled her eyes at him as she grabbed his favourite pastry from the display cabinet and started on his cappuchino. He frowned at her. "You know you don't have to do that, it's your break too." But Josee wasn't having any of it. He said the same thing every time he came to the front for food or coffee, and every time she ignored him. She loved his mother and she loved him, and she showed it through her actions. She put his coffee and pastry down at the table she and Charl had made themselves comfortable at and took a seat. "Thank you, Josee-bear," Tanner said as he dug in. Josee smiled in reply and took a bite of her own pastry. Connall | Outside somewhere Connal hadn't picked a great day to go for a run. It was gray and miserable, and he was tired after a late night at the bar last night. He'd woken up only an hour ago and still felt the groggy effects of not enough sleep. But he had to run today, or he might not run at all that week, and his schedule was already messed after taking a couple of last-minute shifts last week which caused him to miss out on a few work-outs. He tried to schedule at least one, maybe two runs a week. The remaining days, except his rest day every Sunday, were weight days at the gym. It was much more of a struggle to put on his running clothes than it was to drive to the gym, but he needed to do it. He just wasn't very thrilled that the day he worked-out outside had to be so dull. Connall stepped out of the house and locked the door behind him using the spare he that he and his roommate kept in a plant pot outside the front door. A bit of a cliche place to keep a spare key, he knew, but at least it wasn't under the mat. After 15 minutes of pre-run exercises, Connall set out on his usual run through the back roads of town. Except, where he was supposed to take a right at the church to stay on the outskirts, he took a left into town. He couldn't say why, he just had a feeling that he should take a different route today. Soon enough, he found himself running down the main street with the cafe coming up on his left. He was just about to pass it before a group at what he noted was the only occupied table in the place, caught his eye and he stopped. Connall had been in and out of town for the last few years since highschool, and never around for more than a couple of months at a time. He had enjoyed working in different places, but then he'd gotten a job with a hopeful future in the neighboring town and decided that home wasn't too far away and had found a place to live in Canterwood. He hadn't had time to make a whole lot of friends, not like he was the type to go partying anyway, but these were all reasons why the sight of the group in the cafe compelling him to stop mid-run perplexed him. That is, until he suddenly reconised one of the girls as Josephine Hall from Canterwood Stables. At that same moment, she looked up and their gazes locked. Josee cocked her head, and then recognition dawned on her face. She got up and walked to the door, opening it and gesturing for him to come inside. "Connall, long time no see. Come in! Or," she hesitated, just then noticing his running clothes and slightly laboured breaths, "were you running?" Connall opened and closed his mouth, his brain searching before words as he frowned and nodded. Josee cocked her head again, the vaguely birdlike gesture familiar to his young teenage self. "So, you don't want to come in?" She asked and he nodded. "You do want to come in?" He ndded again, finally making his feet walk him to the door. He entred and looked around and frowned. "Stop frowning, you'll give yourself wrinkles!" The other girl from the table called out, making his frown deepen. Josee rolled her eyes. "Shut up, Charl," she called to her friend before turning back to him. "Ignore her, sometimes she acts like a teenager and forgets what good social behaviour is." She pulled up an empty chair and gestured for him to sit. He did. Five minutes later, He'd been properly introduced to Charl and Tanner, who had also just walked in for their lunch breaks, and had a steaming cup of coffee set on the table in front of him.
