It also doesn't help that, with the small snippets where a horse could've bucked or reared due to an unknown reason or god forbid a teenage is riding a pony that any equestrian familiar with size and weight for a horse would recognize, some "online trainer" somewhere feels the need to bash the rider because the horse is" in pain" or "is green and needs more handling before being ridden under saddle." It sickens me going through comments on videos. Especially when non-equestrians pop in...

Ari exactly, same goes with dog breeders too most ethical people breed to maintain good form and health but all you hear about is puppy mills and puts breeders as a whole in a bad light to a lot of people.

Even well respected and seasoned horsemen once in a while should go back to the basics and establish more bonding and humble themselves. Everyone can do with a bit of humbling once in a while. We often lose sight of the small things as humans

I agree Quality, and oftentimes because of phone cameras etc people film the bad apples and try to paint everyone in the same light when in reality it's a few shitty trainers in a big field of really good horse people

I feel like there is nothing wrong with the horse industry as a whole. Some bad apples ruin the reputation but is often a very small percentage of the horse loving community.

With that all said, there's no use trying to sway someone's opinion, especially without proven research and valid examples. The rules of horse racing are updated when problems arise and they are strictly enforced.

I think there are many people in the horse world who've lost touch with the animals and human bonds.....a lot of people need to go back to the basics

I'm not the most experienced in chat, but I have heard stories, done personal research, and worked with horses enough to know at least a fraction of the industry. Yes, it's messy, but that's how horse racing, dog showing, cattle roping, and any other animal sport/hobby is. There's always someone against it, and there's always someone for it.

Competition season had just started, and it was safe to say Matt was feeling the pressure, and hard. He'd woken up stupidly early that day, due to the pure fact his coach wanted to get in as much flatwork training as was possible with the time slots before the jumps would be hoisted up, ready for the last of the lesson kids. It was always a nightmare at the start. Comp season commences, riding lessons finish, and they alwasy tended to overlap in the first week. Matt made his way down and out of the accomodation, adjusting his white polo shirt accordingly, raking his hair out the way. As he made his way into the barn his gaze caught onto a large black and gold lined horse lorry-the jockey's lorry. They, luckily for them, started a day later and usually spent their extra free day at the comp yard, much to the hatred of most of the competitive riders not including Matt. He'd never seen the reason for the rivalry, but hey what cpuld he do. He was there to win.
After about twenty or so minutes of grooming, fiddling with the pristine tack and doing his best to get his very fresh mare out the barn, he was finally mounted and in the arena. As he waited for Larry, his coach, he did laps of walk and trot around the arena, doing his best to stay in the seat of Roma's incredibly fiery nature.

Lilian walked out of the barn leading her quite tall throroughbred stallion by his reins, she walked him into the warm up arena and mounted him petting his neck rhythmically. She lapped him around in small circled at a walk, Za started bucking and acting up Lilian tried to calm him down lapping him around in a trot Za continued to buck or kick ever once in a while.

Just as Matt thought he was able to calm Roma down enough to test her gaits properly, the white mare caught on another horse acting up, causing her to do exactly the same over and over again. He mumbled under his breath, shooting what could only be described as a tired look of frustration in the other riders direction, followed by a slightly rude hand gesture He then too hold of the reins, circled the mare around a couple times and eventually got her to calm dwn in time for the coach to make his way over. Larry explained a couple of things, from competition prizes to height jumps, and all he could do was listen politely, his eyes trained on the horse acting up. Before Matt had the chance to excuse himself to see what was going on, Larry ordered for the general flatwork to start, leaving him no choice but to do so.

"So Help Me God If You Dont Calm Down Horse." Lilian hissed through her teeth and dismounted Za she patted his neck and remounted she slowly but surely cantered over the smallmedium jumps. She then warm downed Zaza and dismounted, grabbing his reins she led him back and put on his neck rope and halter and led him to Cacaos stall
Lilian then grabbed Cacao out of her stall and put on her neck rope and halter and led both the horses out to the large round pen, and started to ask them to trot around using vocal commands
