Dayton trotted down the hallway of the castle. His mother, Queen Zenya, had planned a ball later that night. Other rulers from different kingdoms, will be coming. She thought this would be a good place for Dayton to find a mate. Dayton had other plans on his mind... He turned the corner to his bedroom and shut the door. The young stallion grabbed his gear and looked in the mirror. His wavy forelock fell down his muzzle. The gold necklace he wore, hung brightly across his chest. He thought he looked pretty professional. Dayton ran out of the door and down to the main ballroom where his mother was getting the last few things around. "Hey mom." He said looking across the room. "Dayton, I need you to act up tonight. Maybe meet a few mares? Please?" Dayton sighed and rolled his eyes. "I guess."

Lea was excited, there was going to a ball in another kingdom, excited, she flew into her room and changed. Lea now was wearing a flower wreath around her neck and silver beads in her mane. Her tail was braided and her body shone like silk. She raced down the spiral stairs and nuzzled her Mom, "Are we going?" she asked eagerly. "Yes, in a moment, your father is getting ready." Her mother, Queen Maylia answered. Lea made a face, her step-father. "Ok! Lets go!" Her father said, walking out of his room. Lea hurried out, bieng careful to avoid the mud in the road.

The ball started and many people started to arrive. King, Queens, princes and princesses. Dayton stood at the doors greeting people as they came in. His mother and father smiled when they saw Dayton helping out.

Lea walked into the castle ball room and blushed, one of the princes was greeting people! "Hi!" She said quickly and hurried along. Her father smiled at the young stallion and her mother followed suit.

Dayton was speechless as a young princess walked by. He kept his gaze on her before turning away and heading to the food stand. His mom was there. "Hi Dayton! How's it going?" She asked. "Fine I guess." He rolled his eyes. His mother sighed and hurried to her throne that sat up on the red carpet stairs. Dayton ate a few things and grinned to himself.

Lea ate some food and then it was time for the dance, she stood off to the side and waited for someone to come and ask her to dance.

Dayton looked over at the princess and smiled slightly. He blushed and looked down. He wanted to dance with her really badly.
