However, her outfits typically have slits up the legs for better mobility and she wears a partial corset made of a golden metal to protect her stomach and ribs. Highly trained in the courtly arts (dance, etiquette, political maneuvering) Backstory Iridessa was born to the ruling pair in the Day Court, where she grew up in the Sunstone Valley as the most beloved and promising "flower" of her time. The palace within the valley was built long ago from Sunstone, a material that both reflects sunlight and generates heat, giving the entire building a subtle warmth and ethereal glow. From childhood, she was a strong and independent person, passing her studies with flying colors, only to soon learn that she had more power than she knew what to safely do with. Even as an adult, she struggles to maintain the control over the abundance, commonly losing control when her emotions overwhelm her. Regardless, she has always been expected to one day rule over the Day Court with a strong and powerful leadership, with the gentle hand for the people, and a fiery, burning fist for anyone who threatens them. She may be young and innocent looking, but she is not a pretty little princess to be trifled with.

Sure thing, but would you rather me start after they are married, or upon their first meeting when the arrangement is made, maybe like an engagement party type setting?

There was a certain hum of excitement and joy bustling about the palace within the Sunstone Valley as servants worked to finish the last minute preparations for what would be the most important and grand gathering of the century. Two great houses were destined to join, so long nothing went astray that evening. After decades, if not more, of tension between the Day and Night Court, the two had finally came to an agreement in the decision to marry their young and promising heirs. The typically calm and collected Iridessa was even notably more fidgety as she readied herself for the quickly approaching evening, her heart fluttering wildly in her chest. What would this man be like? Would they get along? Or perhaps hate each other? Would he take one look at her and call the entire thing off? To say she was uncertain was an understatement, but she fought every moment to regain that confidence she would need to outlive the night. Taking a deep breath, the princess adjusted the shimmering off-the-shoulder sleeves of her dress before smoothing her hands down the rest of the silvery fabric, careful not to smudge the gold of the corset she wore. She looked more than perfect according to Day Court standards, and after a moment of debate she decided that was enough. Just in time, too, as the arrival of their guests was announced only moments later. Iridess left her chamber, her steps feather light even in the heels she wore for a boost of height. She had a soft, golden aura around her, though one might note that it was brighter than normal with all of the anticipation and nervousness she felt. Though, one wouldn't even guess the young woman was nervous then with the way she held her head high as she entered the Great Hall where the party would be held. From there she would wait for whatever was to happen to happen, busying her idle hands by playing with the few children within the court. She weaved little light orbs for them, the shining balls twinkling and dancing around them like little stars, creating giggles and squeals all around.

The prince and his father had taken their time getting ready and the spiked, black crown upon Kael's head was demanding of respect and attention as his black mare beneath him walked up to the servant in the Day Kingdom's courtyard. He nodded a thanks to the servant as he swung down and walked to bow at the queen, king, and princess. "I'm so very excited for this meeting. Shall we?" Kael's father suggested, gesturing toward the large doors a hundred feet or so away. The Day king nodded and led them inside. Once they were seated in the grand meeting room, Kael glanced at the princess. She was gorgeous, that was obvious, but he was slightly worried he scared her. He threw her a wink, flirting maybe but mostly just trying to calm his own nerves. "She will be queen of the Night kingdom, bear heirs for my son, correct?" His father asked

The three royals returned their bows, offering them the same respect before having them enter their home, which shown with warmth and light. "Yes, of course," her father nodded before leading everyone inside, silent even as they reached the meeting room. Iridessa perched delicately in her seat, her smooth, bare legs crossing as the silky fabric flowed around her. She looked at the Prince, a gentle and mostly unreadable expression on her face. He was undeniably attractive, and from what she heard his power was great enough to match her own, if not out do her. As she saw his wink, her smile turned a little truer, and her golden glow seemed pulse with excitement for a moment before returning to normal. Iridessa's attention shifted to his father as he spoke and soft chuckle exited her pouty lips before she spoke the answer to the question her father asked. "She can speak for herself. But the answer is yes. I have agreed to such terms, and when the timing is right there will be heirs," she answered, that soft smile never faltering as she looked at the King. Her father didn't bother to correct his daughter, knowing far better than to answer where she could speak for herself as a capable adult. She was every bit as royal and powerful as he was, so why speak for her? They had discussed everything and he already knew what her answers would be.

"My apologies, princess." Kael's father hurried out, offering a respectful nod. Kael's eyes were trained on the woman, as though she was a goddess. He was nervous but tried his hardest to hide it.
