It’s derived from the Irish name Ruadhán, which means “red-haired.” (He isn't a redhead: skull:) Named after- Sorbus aucuparia (Rowan also known as Mountain Ash) Which in folklore is the "Tree of Protection" and is said to protect against witches. It is also believed by druids to protect the spirits of the dead. Disabilities- VSS (Visual Snow Syndrome, which is a Neurological Disorder) Brief backstory-Rowan grew up in a middle-class family full of rather emotionally harsh parents who didn't understand how to take care of a child with deep-rooted empathy and overall fragile emotions. Because of this, Rowan struggles with his emotions controlling him instead of the other way around. His parents were overall emotionally abusive, making him believe he barely had control over his life, causing him to cling to the few things he could, including when he wanted to eat and how much. His parents had commented on his weight several times, causing an eating disorder to occur around 13. Being homeschooled his whole life has caused him to struggle with certain aspects of socialization. He went no contact with them around 18, right before he was lured into a secret Terrorist Organization, where he was saved from the said organization by a Southern American man who was the founder and commander of a PMC(Private Military Company). Rowan still has a deep-rooted loyalty to that man.

Name- Rue Alia Steele Nicknames: Steele, Alia (she is called Steele by everyone except for her very close friends) Age- 23 years DOB(MM/DD/YY)- 08/14/2001 POB- Bacharach, Germany Sex- Female Ethnicity- White Nationality- American Height- 5'9 Weight- 152 LB Languages Spoken- English, German, Russian Married- N Zodiac- Leo Accent- Bit of an underlying German accent with a much stronger southern accent on top of it, yet she manages to hide them both well and talk like her words could cut through ice. Personality- Steele is a very quiet, cold person. Although, she does have an AMAZING sense of humor. She can be quite sarcastic and a bit rude at times, but she tends to just avoid human contact. She can be aggressive towards pursuers, as she has many of them. For some reason men think she'd beautiful- okay, she was. She was gorgeous. However, she hated it. Enough that she had cut her hair, got tattoos, and other things. Even that didn't help, it just changed who chased after her. She disliked most men at this point, and would rather never talk to people again. She hated attention. She could possibly go underground for the rest of her life and never see people again. She was very introverted. However, on the inside, under many icy layers... she had a soft, beautiful heart. She loved animals, had a great sense of humor, loved taking hikes and walks out in nature, and Many other things. She loved skiing, loved four wheeling, snowmobiling, horse back riding- anything to do with the outdoors, really, including fishing. Most Used Phrases- "Make a plan, execute the plan, expect the plan to go off the rails... throw away the plan." "What the actual f**k did you just do?" "You've got to be f**king kidding me." Habits(B)- Rubbing her temples when anxious, pinching the bridge of her nose, Biting her lip, clenching her jaw. Habits(G)- She... picks up after herself and tends to respond to sticky situations with a joke. Other than that, good habits aren't in her scope. Name origin- Greek, meaning 'regret' Hobbies- Singing, sketching, skiing, any outdoor activity, horseback riding, playing fiddle, drums, fishing, outdoor survival. Positive Traits- Humor, love for animals, loyalty, softness once you squeeze under her icy layers, funny sarcasm, a smile that lights up a room. Negative Traits- Temper, emotionally withdrawn, never telling the full truth, Rudeness, Past Trauma, impulsive, petty. Physical Appearance- Steele is a menacing figure, to say the least. She has black hair that is cut shorter, like male hair. It falls into her eyes slightly, which are a dark, stormy grey that are usually as cold and hard as steel. She is rather attractive with high cheekbones, a perfectly tanned complexion, and a sharp jawline. She is rather tall and lean, with a good amount muscle covering her, well toned arms, strong legs, and abs to put most men to shame. She has a tattoo on her left shoulder, snakes twisting around her arm all the way down to her wrist with their fangs bared. It creeps all the way up onto her neck just slightly. She has a tattoo of a Phoenix on her back, with wings spread wide. The burns crawling onto her back looked like fire, enhancing the image. When we're talking about the most prominent scar she has, it'd be the burn scars. She has horrid red blistering scars all the way up her right arm, onto her shoulder, that side of her chest, collarbone, and upper part of her back. She has a bunch of small scars all over from various mishaps, but the most prominent small scar was across her right cheek, about 4 inches long. She usually wears a silver chain around her neck, though it's almost always tucked into her clothes. Her favorite clothing is a pair of black cargo pants, some black leather boots, a dark grey t shirt that is always tucked into her pants that have a black belt around them, and lastly, some type of flannel shirt or leather jacket. She never really revealed her arms if she could help it. Through the top of her shirt, the red scars could be seen peeking out onto her neck, and on the other side, the tail end of the black tattoo of snakes peeked out. She usually always only scowls or frowns, so it is rare to get a laugh out of her, or a smile, or a chuckle, or any emotion at all. Voice- She usually has a cold, even, flat, dry voice in which she hides her accents, but when she loosens up, her voice almost always holds a teasing tint. She has a lower pitched voice than most woman. When she is singing, she is either singing with her normal, rather low pitched yet still somehow absolutely beautiful voice, but every once in a rare while will she use her higher voice, which can only be described as the voice of an angel. Bless all those who happen to hear it. And they best be praying she doesn't kill them for it. Disabilities- Hyperthymesia, low latent inhibition. Brief backstory- Steele has had a rough life. At the age of 5, her parents died in a gruesome car accident that was rumored not to be an accident. Her grandfather raised her. Her parents were both billionaires, and her grandfather was a millionaire. It was a whole family line of rich people. Her father had owned a giant company, and her brother was the heir to that company as the eldest child. She was destined for quite a bit of money herself, but she was honestly glad she didn't have to worry about running the company. There was a bomb threat to their house when she was 12, and it ended up happening. That's where she got the terrible burn scars. She had the worst wounds of them all, but thankfully, no one had been killed. At age 15, she was kidnapped, and that's when her parents decided she needed a bodyguard. She got an amazing bodyguard named Rhys Booth, and he was an amazing bodyguard. He had been her bodyguard for 9 years now, and they were closer than friends. But then disaster struck- to her. Rhys was leaving for parental leave- him and his wife were having a baby. Of course, she was happy for him, but that meant her best friend was leaving AND she needed a new bodyguard. Officially worst event ever. Affiliations: Father: James Hugh Steele, deceased. Mother: Lilith Alay Steele, deceased. Granfather: Elijah Donald Steele, 68. Brother: Luke Adam Steele, 28. It was a rather dreary day at the Steele mansion. The humongous building loomed overhead, and could be considered more of a castle than a mansion. It's concrete pillars started, moving into a sheltered area, where Rue Alia Steele was standing to get out of the drizzle. Outside, rain dribbled from the clouds in a sad way, the sky was overcast and cloudy, and no hints of the sun peeked out from anywhere. A chilly breeze blew, the trees leaves rustled, and different things blew across the cobblestone yard. The sides of the building were grey-ish and weathered from years upon years of rain, wind, snow, and shine, and the giant double doors stood out, contrasted against the light brick of the house. Steele, as she preferred to be called, was dressed in her usual attire, leaning against a pillar, arms crossed across her chest to ward off the foreboding chill. Her brother was gone on a business trip for the company, which he ran at the moment. Her bodyguard, Rhys, stood to the side, watching her. It was appoximately 1300, and her new bodyguard was supposed to arrive at 1315. She was greatly worried about this. The thing was, her bodyguard had to go everywhere with her. They had to sleep in the same house, do the same things, and altogether, be around each other 24/7. Every hour of the day, every day of the week, every week of the month. She had been with Rhys for 9 long years, and thankfully, they had been compatible. She spent more time around him than any other human being in the entire world. What would happen was either they'd become closer than friends, as her and Rhys had... or she'd have to find a different bodyguard. That's just how it worked. She was greatly worried because she was not an easy person to get along with. She was hard-headed, stubborn, sarcastic, and didn't like talking to people... and she knew that. Steele had already resgined herself to try as hard as possible to act like a sane human being upon meeting her bodyguard, as if they disliked each other, she'd have to find another. If she had to find another, Rhys would have to stay for longer to show the new one around, and if that happened, he might miss his child being born- and Steele was not going to let that happen. So, whatever happened, she was at least going to pretend to like this new bodyguard until Rhys left. All she wanted was for him to have a good time with his child. Rhys eyed her carefully before speaking. "Alia, what's on your mind." He asked gently. He could tell something was off. Steele glanced up as Rhys spoke. She hated the name 'Rue', as it meant regret, and forbid anyone from saying it. She was called Steele by everyone else, except Rhys- he had earned the right to call her Alia. "Nothing... really." She gave him a look as his immediately changed to doubtful. "I'm just a little worried about the new bodyguard." She elaborated with a sigh, turning to him. "You, of all people, should know how hard to was to get along with me in the first few months. What if the new bodyguard doesn't have the same amount of patience and self control as you?" She asked, lifting her eyebrows. Rhys laughed. "It was quite difficult, but you were 15. You have gotten much better since then... trust me." He replied with a gentle smile. "If you do the most you can to make him feel welcome, and he isn't a total dick, I think you'll get along fine." He said cheerfully. Steele snorted. "Always the optimist." She grumbled, turning her gaze back to the road, anxiously awaiting her new bodyguard's arrival.

Rowan sat quietly in the armored vehicle, his elbow resting on his knee and his palm propping up his chin, lost in thought. He had always found it difficult to grasp the intricacies of his work; it was something that had puzzled him for as long as he could remember. Phillip had insisted on driving him to this new job, saying something along the lines of, "I don't want to see one of my favorite shadows go alone one last time." Rowan couldn't quite recall the exact words, but what resonated deeply was the sentiment behind them. He was leaving Shadow Company, stepping away from the military life he had known, and moving on to a bodyguarding position that he naively thought would be straightforward. However, a growing unease nestled in the pit of his stomach, whispering that perhaps this transition wouldn’t be as easy as he had hoped. Phillip's voice interrupted his thoughts, softer than usual, and laced with concern. “So, do you even know who you're working for, darlin’?” The southern drawl was comforting, but its heaviness made Rowan sense the weight of the moment. He brushed off the gravity in Phillip's tone as he replied, "Can't remember." Yet, he couldn’t ignore the way the tenderness in Phillip's voice echoed in him or how the uncertainty made his heart flutter in anxiety. It was a bittersweet farewell, and the feeling lingered, pulling at him as they moved toward the uncertain future ahead. ---- "We're here," Phillip muttered after what felt like an eternity of silence. "I know," Rowan responded with a sigh, shit. This was the last time he may ever see his commander, right? The pit in his stomach seemed to grow endless. "You sure you don't want to make more of an entrance darlin'?" Phillip mused with a wide grin at Rowan. "No, it's fine, I do want you to get out with me though," Rowan spoke quietly, as if ashamed to ask to be accompanied by the man, but Phillip didn't seem to mind. Rowan took in a deep breath before opening the door and hopping out, soon followed by Phillip opening his own door after putting the vehicle in park and hopping out as well. Rowan approached warily, Phillip practically breathing down his neck.

Steele sharp eyes flit to an armored vehicle as it pulled in the drive. "Rhys, hand me that file." She stated abruptly. The man nodded, handing it to her. She opened the file and scanned the page quickly. Of course- she had forgotten this. This was this man's first time as a bodyguard. That made sense. She scanned what he had been doing- military work for an organization called the 'Shadow Company'. So he was most likely qualified, but it worried her a little, knowing that he had never worked a s bodyguard before. He would have to pay close attention while tailing Rhys. She glanced up and away from the file, handing it back to Rhys as the car doors opened and two men got out. She didn't even know which one was her new bodyguard. Her grey gaze examined them as they strode forward, one rather warily, with the other tagging right behind. She mentally prepared himself and stepped forward, face rather emotionless and gaze hard. "Rue Steele. You can call me Steele." She announced her name, sticking out her hand for him to shake, her posture rigid and a bit tense. She had never liked meeting new people, especially someone that she'd have to get along with better than her own parents. After he shook her hand, she stepped back, and Rhys thankfully took over. "I'll be staying for a week and leading you through our normal routine here. If you have any questions you can ask me."

Rowan gulped down his fear as he shook her hand, Luckily his hands were gloved, or else she would find his hands were severely sweaty. He was glad when she pulled away, his attention now focused on the man before him. He nodded, cocking his head so he could catch a glimpse of Phillip one last time. The southern man had an almost pinched expression, but when he felt Rowan's gaze he glanced over, giving a hint of an expression of 'Are you sure of yourself?' As if hell Rowan was sure of himself, In that moment he wanted to curl into a ball and scream or hide, maybe even just go back to where he knew he was accepted. He quickly shoved down his feelings of discomfort. 'A file?' He wondered, his heart beating heavily in his chest as he wondered how much of that information was redacted, for once he hoped all of it was, maybe just maybe.... He took in a deep breath, glancing back again just to see Phillip still looking at him. He tried to send him a look, trying to silently reassure him that he was alright, but Phillip didn't look too convinced. "I'll be around for a few days, Rowan, if you change your mind," Phillip whispered in his ear before he was already turning on his heels to go back to the vehicle. Rowan's stomach dropped more as he was shoved back into the moment. 'Shit' He thought as he immediately straightened his posture and acted as stereotypical soldier-like as he could possible, trying to act indifferent and cold like what was usually expected of him from outsiders.
