His eyes are a stormy gray, sharp but soft when he smiles—he has that “city kid who’s seen too much, but is still gentle” vibe.
He usually wears layered streetwear: zip-up hoodies, loose tees, chain necklace, worn sneakers, and a denim jacket with a tear on the sleeve.

Personality:

Quiet at first, but wicked observant—the kind of guy who notices everything: the way someone taps their fingers when nervous, when the train schedule changes, when someone needs help but won’t ask. Street-smart, sarcastic, and lowkey protective, especially toward people he cares about.

Mateo “Tate” Moreno, 42 — a quiet, hardworking man who runs the family corner store. He’s tough on the outside but soft when it comes to Jace. He shows love through actions, not words—leaving food out for Jace, fixing his stuff, covering shifts so Jace can rest. Their bond is strong but unspoken: they argue sometimes, but they always end up sitting together on the roof on Sunday mornings, watching the city wake up.

Mother :

Elena Moreno, passed away when Jace was 10. She was warm, artistic, and always humming around the apartment. She used to paint the walls with little flowers and stars, and Jace got his creative side from her.
Her death hit the family hard—Mateo became quieter, and Jace learned to grow up fast.
Jace still keeps one thing of hers: a small silver bracelet she wore every day. He never talks about her, but he thinks of her whenever he’s drawing or making music.

Siblings :

Henry Becket, is the eldest brother. He was the one to take his siblings and run away. He is a sweet guy, but highly overprotective of his siblings. He was 18 when they ran away together and is currently 23 and working with his siblings as aerialists in the circus.

The subway car rattled as it curved through the tunnel, fluorescent lights flickering overhead in that way that always made Jace’s eyes ache. He sat near the end of the car, one arm draped loosely over his duffel bag like someone might actually try to steal it at six in the morning.

Headphones around his neck, hood pulled up, he looked like someone trying very hard not to be approached.
Didn’t matter. His leg still bounced restlessly, knee hitting the metal pole with every jitter.

Countryside.
He still couldn’t believe it.

One week ago he was sure he’d be spending the summer in the city with his friends, skating behind convenience stores, cutting through alleyways he knew by heart. Now he was getting shipped off to “get some fresh air” like he was a plant someone forgot to water.

The train slowed, squealing as it approached the next station. Jace pulled his phone out, thumb brushing over the cracked screen before he checked the time again—still hours until the flight, but he’d rather be early than deal with the chaos of the city later.

A group of commuters stepped on; a few glanced his way, but he didn’t lift his head. He just watched their reflections in the window, dark eyes half-lidded, expression unreadable.

He exhaled through his nose, tapping a finger against the bag of his duffel.

“Countryside,” he muttered under his breath. “This is gonna suck.”

As the train lurched forward again, Jace finally looked up—just in time to catch someone staring at him from across the car.

Lyra and the circus arrived in the small town of Cannon Beach, Oregon, just a few days ago. It was in the heat of the summer, sun bright, sky blue. So far, the circus had put up the big performance tent and the smaller living tents. This time, Lyra managed to get her own tent. The ringmaster, Randy, or as he goes by, The Revolutionary Rando Ringmaster, had made up the schedule for the shows and printed fliers. Today, it was Lyra, Henry, and Levi's job to go around the city of Cannon Beach and hand them out to stores to put up, staple them to telephone posts, anywhere they could put them. But by 2 o'clock, the three of them were on the train, heading back to the circus for training. She caught herself lost in thought, accidentally staring at a guy across the car. She blushed, realizing what she'd done. She offered a sheepish wave and smile just as the train stopped. Thankfully, this was her stop. It was a rather awkward interaction. She hadn't meant to stare at the boy, and she was still in one of her old circus outfits, a red and white striped leotard with a gold skirt. Lyra exited quickly with her brothers, the massive circus tent looming just past the train station, and the three of them made their way to the tent for practice.
