She read it, smiling a little. He was sweet, it was really nice... she set the note down on her dresser and unlocked her door, moving to find Jason. She found him in his bathroom. "Oh, gosh, you're hurt," she murmured softly, moving over towards him, gently taking the ice cube as she began to fuss over him, helping him as best she could.

"Ok." Jason didn't argue as Esme helped him, fussing over him. Jason just stood there until he couldn't taste the blood anymore before sitting down, ushering Esme to sit too. He went to go put his arm around her, but withdrawled his hand about halfway, remembering.

Esme sat, gently leaning into his side. "Thank you..." she murmured softly.

"Mhm." Jason nodded. He leaned over the counter and grabbed an apple from the fruit basket, taking a bite before getting his phone out of his pocket and scrolling.

Esme watched as he did so before putting her eyes down. Bradley had always done that... sat with her, but never actually communicated with her. It made her feel unheard, unloved. She stood, brushing invisible dust of her lap and wandering to her room again. "Goodnight," she muttered.

"Oh, ok." Jason set down his phone on the table, watching her leave as he sighed and threw the apple core in the compost bin and walked to his own room, hopping in the shower and taking a shower.

Esme got ready for bed, curling up and crying herself to sleep.
