``You seem like the type to do so,`` Cosette replied quietly, the slightest glimmer of amusement in her blue eyes. She felt a little guilty when he spoke of not resting well, even if it made sense. Both of them had to hold their own against a bear the night before, something that was not common nor exactly the easiest thing to do. She nodded in acknowledgement before she finally relaxed, shifting to sit down a few feet beside him. Of course, she still persisted in not accidentally getting into his personal space; it was something she did with nearly everyone.

The dame stiffened when Fierce also noticed her sire and the Beta, both of which looked serious and almost solemn at the moment. Her ears lowered a fraction as she returned her gaze to Fierce, hoping to not spiral into a mess of thoughts. Whenever those two conversed, it was almost always because of something major brewing. She gathered her thoughts before she spoke, ``He`s the Beta. His name is Alarion and he's.. strange.``

Cosette frowned as she turned her head to look over at the two males again, her brow furrowing when she saw them enter her sire`s den. They were definitely discussing something, maybe even plotting.. For all she knew, Alarion was not content with Fierce staying in Felder and wanted him gone. Cosette sighed before looking back at Fierce, offering a small smile, ``Should be nothing to worry about.``

Fierce had felt it, how she had tensed up when he asked who the other male speaking to her sire was. He didn't even have to look at her to know how she had froze up. The brute could feel it within the tension of the air. How it went from an airy feeling between them to thick, uneased one. It was almost as if the wolf was of importance, but was of terrible meaning. Flicking his left auricle toward her as she told him who the wolf was. "The beta, eh?" He questioned with a small chuckle. "He seems like sort of a wuss." He joked, his gaze finally turning to look at her as she frowned, looking back toward the two males as they disappeared into her sires den. The blue gaze he held grazing across her form as it had many times before. There was something about her - about this place -that sat just right with him yet didn't at the same time.

As she told him it should be nothing to worry about, he smirked, "Seems to me it should be.." He trailed off, looking back out at her pack as he pushed himself forward into a standing position. "You're rather easy to read, princess." He stated with a soft chuckle following, the nickname something he had just spontaneously come up with. Flicking his tail, the brute began to limp forward. "Got a place to drink out of in this place?" He questioned, stopping his slow pace to look back at Cosette, "Mind showing me?" He added onto his question. Fierce was parched, and was even more hungry -- but he wouldn't go as far as asking for food just yet.

While he hadn't ever been a part of a pack, he figured their was a system when it came to food and things alike. Keeping his gaze trained on her, he'd perk his auricles forward, awaiting a response.

For a brief moment, Cosette was almost amused when Fierce referred to the Beta of Felder as a wuss; it was somewhat true to an extent, but even she dared to not trifle with the brute. Her attention was solely on the male beside her now that the other two had vanished into her sire`s den, presumably discussing whatever had made them so tense and secretive. One of her auricles flicked when he stated that she was easy to read, a small sign that she had found his comment a tad comical. Cosette had also noticed how she had seemingly earned herself a new nickname of sorts that was- for now, she guessed- reserved just for him to utilize. The other members of Felder already had a designated nickname for her, even if it was rare for it to be used due to the strict hierarchy. She perked up when he asked if there was anywhere for him to drink, realizing then and there that he was definitely parched and starving in one way or another.

In response, Cosette simply nodded once before sliding up onto her paws, steering herself towards where the two of them had stumbled into the makeshift camp the night before. Since she had not said anything, she clearly expected him to just follow her as per usual. Her sire had been incredibly strategic regarding where he had decided to place Felder`s sanctuary of sorts; there was a small creek nearby and the dens were mostly shaded due to the overgrown areas surrounding it. It did not take more than a minute for her to successfully guide Fierce to the small creak, observing him as he stumbled after her once again. She truly felt terrible for putting him in such a situation, but she tried to look at the positives. Maybe he would find a place here and not be so withdrawn and lonely as he seemed to be.

While Fierce busied himself with drinking from the creek, Cosette decided to wander just a little bit. Her crown was lowered as she walked alongside the gentle, lapping water, nostrils flaring as she welcomed in the scents of Felder. It smelled of fresh rain, the occasional passing rabbit, Felder members, and a whole lot more. She eventually returned back to where she had left Fierce, a small acorn dangling from her jaws; the pups loved playing with them, so she figured she could bring one back.

Fierce watched as Cosette stood. Her frame moved gracefully across the terrain as her paws carried her. Her silence was almost suffocating, though as she walked -- he assumed she wanted him to follow. Picking up a quicker pace from the night before, he still moved with a gimp. Fierce flicked his auricles forward, his tail waving behind him with each uneven stride he took. It was a nice walk, having had shade majority of the way there. Where the small camp had been placed was well thought over and planned out. He gave the alpha props for that. Allowing the silence to stay between them as they got to the stream, the brute would gently brush passed Cosette. His muzzle lowering to the coolin liquid before his tongue split his jaw, lapping at it.

He took a rather long drink, having not really had anyting to quench his thirst since earlier the day before. Afterward, Fierce lifted his ead and watched as Cosette made her way down the bank of the river. He observed her movement, watching as her lengthy muscled legs carried her. As she turned back around to come back toward his, he reverted his gaze to look around at the forest surrounding him. "It's a beautiful day." He spoke, breaking the rather awkward silence that had been sitting between them. "Your home is also rather pretty." He stated with a small chuckle, looking back over at her.

When she returned to where she had left him, Cosette felt embarrassed enough to discard the acorn for a moment, dropping it at her paws. She nodded at his observation, a strange warmth spreading in her chest; it was almost like pride. It made sense for her to be proud of Felder and its history, being its heiress after all. At times, even she found it hard to believe that she had such a role, especially given her personality. Renier was prideful, intelligent, and determined while she was more like her dam: quiet, reserved, but openly kind. Her blue eyes shimmered with amusement before she moved past him slightly, her gaze following where the river seemed to stretch on forever.

``Felder is rather known for its beauty,`` Cosette explained quietly, her voice almost reverent. She never once had found something she truly disliked about her home, even when it was muddy and storming like the gods above decided to torture them. A small snort of laughter rumbled in her chest as she looked back at Fierce, observing him for a brief moment. ``You.. You`ve probably traveled and seen a lot of different land, yes?``

The da could not prevent herself from being curious. If he humored her, he would quickly find out just how good of a listener she was; she absorbed information quickly and knew how to keep conversations going- much unlike her serious sire. Her tail flicked as she shifted back onto her haunches to sit near the river bank, clearly expecting him to dive straight into his answer. Cosette was always this eager, even if it seemed a little overkill at times. Besides, Fierce was still very much a stranger in a lot of ways.

Fierce saw how Cosette beamed with pride when talking about her home and it's beauty. Flicking his tail, he'd shift his weight back, sitting down on his haunches. The brute was usually one to notice the beauty of places, mainly because he's seen a little bit of everything. The ugly, the beauty, the harsh and the nice. All of which had a meaning that were scarred on his body. Reminders of what he had seen. So, he took note of such things -- especially the beauty -- to remember that instead of the harshness of the lands he travelled across. Fierce never truly told anyone of his travels, mainly because he never truly had anyone to converse with.

"You.. You've probably traveled and seen a lot of different land, yes?"

Her question came as a surprise to him, almost thinking that she could read his thoughts. Quickly shaking the thoughts away, he chuckled to himself as he nodded in response to her question. "Yes, I have seen a lot.." He answered, flicking his auricles about before looking over at her. "A lot of everything, if I am being honest." He stated. As he observed her -- he noticed just how intense of a listener she was. Fierce hadn't noticed it before -- how her auricles were perked forward, how her posture was straight yet sligtly leaning toward him. It was amusing to say the least. "Would you like a story?" He questioned, tilting his head slightly to the right. "Or, were you just hoping i'd go into one?" He chuckled, looking around at their surroundings. If there was one thing she could learn about Fierce without truly getting to know him through speech, was that he was observant. The brute was always making sure evernything was in place, and everything was peaceful. He knew his opponents next move before they did, is how he liked to say it.

"I presume I could tell you how I got this scar on my neck -- and survived." He stated with another chuckle, looking back over at her. "It was a bear, much like the one from yesterday.. Perhaps a bit bigger.." He trailed off, winking at her to show that he was in fact exaggerating for the story. "I was asleep when it attacked me... It's heavy paw swiping my flank and sending me flying across the den I had found to sleep in that night. I remember hearing the sounds of my rib cracking as I hit the wall.." He trailed off as his gaze wandered across the land at his feet. "I felt like I couldn't breathe.. But, I knew I had to fight it.." He continued, "Getting to my paws, I took percaution in how I went about it... Observing it's erratic movement, I moved around it using the darkness within the den. Though, It wasn't long before it noticed me.." He trailed off once more, his head lowering a bit as his auricles flicked back. "I'm not a hero in this story.. As, when it found me, and clawed me, I was bleeding so badly my vision was blurred.." Fierce trailed off once more. "I ran." He stated simply, "I ran as fast and as far as I could before I fell, and a wolfess much like yourself found me.. I was only an adolescent then.. And to this day I am still grateful for everything that dame did for me." As he finished his story, he looked back over at Cosette. His eyes glossy, looking as if he were ready to cry.

"If I am being honest.." He started speaking, trailing off as he looked away from her. "I do not know what made me stay to help you yesterday.. I don't know what made me have the need to protect you.." Fierce continued to speak, looking down at his paws before back over at Cosette. "Though, now that I tell you that story.. I believe the need to carry on that kindess the dame that day showed me is the reason.." He finished his statement, allowing his gaze to trail over Cosette's form. "That.. and, I don't think i'd ever forgive myself for letting such beauty fall." He admitted, winking playfully at her.

Pushing his weight forward, he stood back up. "Shall we begin our way back?" He questioned her, hoping that he hadn't made the mood dark.

Cosette knew almost immediately that Fierce was more than aware of how her enthusiaism; a part of her had hoped that he would notice, especially since she wanted to seem like she wanted to truly get to know him. Her jowls lifted into a sheepish smile of sorts before she nodded eagerly, confirming that she did indeed want a story. The dame immediately felt a little embarrased when he guessed precisely what was going on in her head: she really had expected him to dive straight in, even when they barely knew each other. She had never journeyed outside of Felder`s borders for a plethora of reasons, but even that had downsides. Cosette had always dreamed of being able to step over that scentline with no worry in the world regarding what would happen if she left her pack behind. She had responsibilities and, despite everything, she wasn`t the type to throw it all away just for a short escapade. When he started talking once more, Cosette was immediately engaged.

The scar on his neck. It clearly had been a fatal wound before it had healed, so she presumed the story behind it was a brutal one. Her tail shfited slightly as she settled it over her paws; it was a habit of hers, perhaps solely because her sire had always wanted her to present herself in a certain way. She knew it was important, but even now she wasn`t truly relaxed, which was a rather depressing thought. Cosette listened intently as he dove into his story, gaze fixated on his expressions and her audials focused on his tone of voice; those two things told her a lot. She nearly smiled when he mentioned the bear being a little bigger than the one they encountered, noting the obvious exaggeration. It took all her willpower to not comment quietly on how he seemed to have horrendous luck with bears; it was as if they were intent on killing him one day. Continuing to listen carefully, Cosette soon realized how important this specific story was; it was the moment he trailed off and lowered his gaze. She wondered just how scared he had been in that exact moment, so much so to the point he ran from the creature. Cosette would have ran regardless, but still.. He had been so brave the day prior.

Her ears perked up when he mentioned a dame rescuing him and tending to his wounds. It would seem he had been saved before at least once; Cosette was used to being saved due to who she was, but alas.. she couldn`t image that dreadful, sickening feeling of realizing that you could potentially draw your last breath in the next few moments. Then she noticed how glossy his eyes were. Instinctively, she started to stand before sitting back down again; she didn`t have the right to comfort or reassure him at all. Cosette felt empathetic until he shifted the topic ever so slightly to when he had saved her. Fierce had a fair point: neither of them had any idea why he had decided to save her, but it did make sense given the story. Then the dame froze for a moment at his words, proceeding to clear her throat while her ears had nearly flattened against her skull in a sheepish way. Goodness, Cosette was always awkward whenever comments like these were made.

``Yeah.. sure,`` Cosette nodded before she finally stood up, glancing at his wounds to ensure they hadn`t reopened her anything from traveling to the river. It had been a short journey, but even she still worried. She turned and started to head back towards the way they had came, wondering if there would be food by now. The hunters went out in the morning and returned a few hours later if they were hunting the elk, but they were nowhere to be seen the past few weeks; the pack had resorted to rabbits and other critters. She wanted to ask him questions, but she didn`t want to overstep.

With that in mind, she decided to shift the conversation just a little, hoping her input of sorts would lighten the mood a bit. Cosette made sure she was keeping pace with him before beginning to speak, her voice as gentle as always, ``My father was the one that raised me. My mother.. she died early on in my life, so I barely remember anything about her. Regardless, the females in Felder raised me, but every now and then I wondered what it would have been like if she were still around.``

Cosette truly had no idea why she revealed that part of her to him., but.. it felt right. It made sense since he had kind of done the same thing, yet she had no idea if he even wanted to listen to her stories. She felt a little stupid now, expecting him to just nod in acknowledgement. It definitely showed in the way her pace had slowed and how her eyes had gradually traveled downwards, focusing on the terrain instead.
