(Sorry i've been SO busy recently!) Camery sort of felt things shift in the slight state of sleep she was in, and when she finally heard Kai's voice again she just shook her head. "I... I don't know. Kai, somethings not right," she whispered.

Kai heard the mumbling of the nurses through the bond. Something of the baby's wings being out, not folded like they should be, and one had torn a hole in the womb. Kai gazed down at Camery, so worried. "Cam, I promise, everything will be okay, I promise, everything will be just fine. I'm right here. I'll be here the whole way," he whispered hurriedly, pinching himself and her in the same spot, the void disappearing. The nurses loaded her up with anesthesia, then cut into her belly, going immediately into an emergency C-section. Kai told a maid to go grab his mother and his sister, they could handle the baby, while Kai stayed with Camery. He scrubbed in just in time to lift the baby out of her. Kai hadn't even realized, but he was crying, tears dripping down his cheeks as he held his squirming, crying baby in his arms. His sister and his mother appeared, just in time, Alora scooped the child out of his arms and his mother cupped his face, wiping his tears away. "Honey, go be with your wife. We've got the baby," she murmured softly. "Mom, I'm scared..." he breathed, his wings drooping. "I know honey," his mom murmured. "You can do this, okay? Even when its scary, you always pull through. Camery will be okay. Go be with her," she whispered. Kai nodded. "Thank you," Kai breathed, spinning around, going back to Camery as the nurses stabilized her, stitched her up and began to wake her up, Kai knelt by her side, waiting for her anxiously. Camery felt her throat swell when Kai started to speak, unable to even look at him. Something was so wrong, and she didn't quite know what it was. She was so scared, and all of a sudden Kai was just... gone. She wanted him here with her. She wanted to hold his hand and let him tell her everything was ok. She wanted him to tell her that she'd be fine, and the baby was absolutely perfect. It was dark here, without him, and no matter how hard she tried she just... couldn't move. Where was he? She tried to calm her mind, relax into the darkness and try to rest but she just couldn't. It wasn't working. She couldn't relax without knowing what was going on. She supposed the only good thing about all of this was that she couldn't feel what was going on. She wasn't in pain, she was just scared. If something went wrong... if anything happened to the baby, would Kai forgive her? Would she forgive herself? She wasn't sure about it at all. She wouldn't get over it... she couldn't. It was maybe a good few hours later until she felt herself start to come to again, her mind reconnecting with her body in an uncomfortable way. She sucked in a deep breath, and slowly opened her eyes to look around. She felt nothing but panic when she saw an empty room, until her eyes landed on a very worried looking Malakai knelt next to the bed. She tried to move, but a searing pain in her stomach made that... hard. She whimpered slightly and leaned back against her hand, looking back at Kai with watery eyes. "Kai... Malakai, where's my baby?" she asked worriedly, her lip already starting to quiver.

Kai stayed by her side for hours, watching each breath she took. When she finally woke, Kai was so relieved. So relieved that she hadn't died, that Kai hadn't lost her. "Don't move, your body's healing," he whispered. "Its okay, the baby's okay," he smiled softly, his mother and sister appearing in the doorway with a little, sleeping baby in his mothers arms, swaddled in a blanket, golden wings peaking out by their head. His mother gently handed the baby to Camery with a smile. "Congratulations, darling, its a boy," she murmured gently.

Kai gazed down at Camery and their son lovingly and protectively. Kai glanced at her expectantly, watching for her reaction to their baby boy. "Are you okay, honey?" He asked softly.

***Previous Post Revised*** Kai knelt at her bedside for hours, watching each rise and fall of her chest, counting them. His entire body froze with dread at every breath that was just a few seconds too late, watching over her more protectively, before calming down again, but never leaving. Alora and his mother were on the other side of the small room, feeding and tending to the baby. Kai loved his child; he always would, but right now, all he could think about was what if Camery didn't wake up? When Camery's eyes began to flicker open, Kais brimmed with tears. He wanted to jump on her and hug and kiss her, tell her how much he loved her, but he knew better. She was healing; her body needed rest. Kai put his hands out to her gently, catching her shoulders and lowering her back down to the bed. "Shh, honey, you're okay. Don't move just yet, you're body is healing," he reassured her softly. Kai smiled softly. "Don't cry, honey, the baby's okay. They're alive and healthy," he murmured with a soft smile. Kai's mother, on the other side of the room, scooped up the sleeping baby in her arms, carrying the little thing over to Kai and Camery, Alora following closely. Kai's mother handed over the baby to Camery when she was ready to hold them. Their little baby was sleeping soundly, swaddled up in a soft cream blanket, covered in ducklings, teeny tiny golden wings poking up just behind their head. Kai's mother smiled. "Congratulations, you have a little baby boy," she whispered, stepping away so the little family of now three could have some time together. He looked just like Kai. The little tufts of black hair on his head that would grow out into soft curls just like Kais. Although his wings were bright and gold, just like his mother's.
