Auni got a small boost of confidence if she could ride then hopefully going on ice would be easy for her. She liked to be good at things on the first try. " Well I don't mind soccer, but how do you balance with just a tiny little blade holding you up?" she asked as that's what she was worried about as she was not a very good roller skater and it was relatively similar. The barn was about a 20-minute ride as it was a little bit past town and further inland. She pulled into a long driveway lined by some palm trees. There was a light blue barn with about 15 stalls and with an indoor attached. There was some cross-country jumps to the left and then some pastures. "Rosie is over there in that field she is the big plump chestnut," she pointed to a mare who was eating grass. She parked in the gravel patch.
"I'm going to go bring her in you can come with If you want, Mollie my trainer is probably floating around here somewhere and when I find her I'll introduce you. Maybe next weekend we can try and hack the horses out..." she suggested |

Theo chuckled. "You'll be fine," he reassured her, although not truly answering her question. He got out with her and followed her, nodding when she pointed out Rosie. She was a pretty horse. "Yeah, that sounds good," he replied with a smile. |

Auni went and grabbed the chestnut mare out of the field and walked her into the barn to start grooming her. "You can help if you want," she said as she grabbed a container of brushes from a cubby. Paige from school was also there they rode together most of the time. She was tacking up a buckskin warmblood gelding. "Those two horses are who Mollie would probably let you ride, Motor is an old Appaloosa gelding who is super safe, and then there's Oakland he's a paint draft cross and he just needs a lot of exercise but he's also pretty chill," she said as she pointed to two horses who had their head peaking out of their stall doors. Then she heard her trainer's voice... "Mollie this is Theo, Our exchange student," she said to her as usually she never brought guys to the barn. "Ah, Theo nice to meet you," she said to him. "I'm Mollie Jenkins," "Mollie actually briefly rode in France, her horse Alfie was imported from there," she mentioned. "What part are you from? I trained for 2 years right outside of Lille" her trainer had asked him. |

Theo followed Auni around, listening and taking in the information. He smiled and waved at Mollie, Auni's trainer, when Auni introduced them. "Paris, ever since I was born," Theo replied with a friendly smile. |

That night, all he could think about was Auni. He glanced at his clock, 11:43. Shit, it was late. He'd been trying to sleep since 9. He sighed, getting out of bed and sitting at his desk, pulling out his sketchbook and pencils. He sketched her face out on an empty page; God, she was gorgeous. 20 minutes later, he sat there holding the sketch of her in his hands. "Putain moi," he muttered, 'fuck me' in French, dropping his sketchbook on his desk and burying his face in his hands. He glanced at the time again, 12:21. Jeez, what was wrong with him? Theo sighed and got up, leaving his room, going over to Auni's door. He lifted his hand to knock and then hesitated. He knew he shouldn't, but he knocked anyway. "...Auni? are you still up?" he murmured, hoping she was still up. |
