I've never minded giving tips for services, like at a restaurant or when I get my hair cut. It's a nice extra thank you, but no one should have to depend on tips to survive

Mum also tips her hairdresser but thats because she drives all the way over to our house of an evening and only charges like ten quid which is far too cheap.

Cost of living is shocking all around, I wouldn’t feel bad for not tipping. But that is just me!

I used to work trail rides and such so tips there were a big help to me. Living costs are getting harder and harder so anything helps really, i feel bad when i dont tip

Yeah, tipping just helps to increase a company's profit margin by putting extra onto the customer.

Stalker,
Yeah, but it isn't the customers job to pay an extra amount so that the workers can make a living wage..

Now things are getting crazy with tips, though. Like asking for tips just with regular shopping or whatever

I know. It's kinda depressing.

Well, the whole point of tipping (atleast over here) is extra support. Usually 25% of a workers earning goes to the company but tips belong to them entirely so its a way of supporting them and appreaciating them.

Yeah a lot of things in the US shouldn't be the way they are, but I digress >.>

We leave a little tip if we've had a meal out, but its definitely not an expectation here. Service workers are paid a normal wage and any tips they get are a nice little bonus. I loved working the Sunday Lunch shift when I worked at a pub briefly because all the old ladies used to tuck fivers into my pockets 🤣

Its only "rude" to not tip in the US because its what service workers make their living off of. If people would just pay them a reasonable wage it wouldnt be needed

Crowley, yeah that is kind of the point why I find it strange. The business should pay them a living wage. It’s not up to the customer to subsidise the business lol

Yeah, I honestly don't get the point of tipping.. Like, just pay the amount you owe then move on, I do see it as a little rude.

Sage sort of just rolled his eyes in response to the other captains comment, figuring that it was rather obvious he had no superior powers. He knew coordinates wherever they were on the sea, and knew nooks and crannies and islands and stuff most didn't know about, and he could tell what the currents were and where they went. Helpful, but not superpowers. And the only thing fighting wise he had over human opponents was a quick reaction time and endurance. Speed. But it wasn't by a super big extent...just a little bit.
He sort of shrugged when the guy mentioned plenty of people wanting at him and grunted. "I piss off plenty of em," he noted before wrinkling his nose slightly. "You're cutting in line," he added simply. He moved his head back into a natural position once his hair was released, though they were dragging him down into the dark dungeon and locking heavy iron shackles around his wrists. He let out a sort of sigh once they were gone, looking around the cell, already bored. Being captive wasn't nearly as fun or exciting as being out sailing on the open ocean.
