Sages words had left Ella feeling only slightly nauseous, as did the very serious look on his face. Almost a warning luck if she carried on. Luckily for Ella she was past caring what happened to her, and quite frankly would have been happy to be killed at that point- though from his words, he would do anything but kill her on the spot. She groaned and buried her head in her hands for a couple of seconds, then looked back at Sage, glaring just as he had done. "You need to stop throwing your little bitchboy tantrum, you're getting worked up over what? A girl" she spat, kicking a piece of a broken branch in his direction, watching it fly past and land in a stream below. He most definitely didn't blame him for his tone, she had tortured Sage quite some amount. "I'm aware there's worse things, but in case you haven't forgotten, you're quite injured and you definitely need me." She spoke, taking a deep breath. "And clearly, I need..we need each other. So put up with me until you find your stupid family and then please kill me off" she finished, carefully picking her way down the hill they had come across.

Sage had stayed quiet for the few bit of moments the girl was quiet, before gritting his teeth together when she spoke up again. "And you need to stop being an ass," he huffed. "You only get to act like that of you actually have one," he added, casting a glance back at the girl, figuring the comment would at least shut her up a little bit. Or make her mad enough to say something so he could punch her or something. He ignores the last part of her comment, knowing that clearly wasn't something that really mattered. Plus he couldn't exactly argue against it. Though, her next comment brought another glare her way, though it was soon enough turned to a bored look. "So are you," he pointed out with a shrug. Of course, the last part of her comment did cause some questions to rise in his mind, before he shut them up. He had pretty similar thoughts himself sometimes. Though, he did sort of feel bad that someone else thought that way.

Ella's tongue trailed her cheek as she listened to Sage's first comment, a rather frustarted smile forming on her face. "So that's how you're planning on playing it huh?" She asked, cocking her head to the side for a couple of seconds. "And you need to stop acting like such a massive dick, im aware you're trying to compensate for something but news flash, its not going to work. It'll stay small and you'll stay as annoying as always, forever. To everyone." She said, staring Sage in the eye best he could as they walked. Their argument had compleyely stopped her from keeping track on when they were going, and she frowned as she realised they had fully left the forest and fields, and coming up on some concrete. She scanned as she realised they had hit some sort of town, somewhere her father had been so heavily against her vsiting ever since they had gotten to this area. "With luck someone will take you out here." She mumbled, though absolutely no one was to be seen.

Sage had tossed the girl an amused look in response to her first comment, though the expression quickly became annoyed, and then angry again as he clenched his jaw and stomped forward, really trying not to turn around and sucker punch the girl. In the face. Hard. "Wouldn't you like to know, sweetheart," he sort of snorted after a moment, giving her a sort of cocky grin before moving ahead of her and into the town, now on alert. "Shut up and keep an eye out," he hissed. "I don't know who lived here or who still might be here," he added in a more neutral tone, creeping around silently, not sure where they were, but not entirely trusting the way everything was so...still. unnaturally still. The whole thing really just made his skin crawl. He didn't like it....any of it. And the girl yapping and grumbling next to him didn't really help things. It was already hard to stand and walk and concentrate. He was regulating his breathing beat he could but it was still rough and choppy, despite his best efforts. He'd much rather avoid a fight in this situation....he doubted either of them would get very far of a fight broke out.

Ella did her best to keep back the smile forming on her face as Sage spoke back, only raising her eyebrows at his one comment. She didnt reply to it though, and instead just looked up to scan the area they had stumbled upon. They could be ambushed at any minute, by anyone, from any direction. She picked her way over the cobbles of the streets, doing her best to listen out for any voices or movements that may not have been animals and every minute or so glancing at Sage to make sure he hadnt just dropped dead. She would have liked that though. After about ten minutes of simply just weaving through the town she stopped walking, figuring it was at least safe to take a small break. "I feel like we should at least look around here, and not just walk straight through." She said, her voice echoing out into the silence. Her tone was far from snappy as it had been earlier, more bored. "Plus you're clearly faring worse than me so we might aswell stop." She added, only hoping that didnt come across as too rude.

Sage had crept along through the buildings, mostly just listening and looking for any signs of life. He hadn't seen any....but if there were trained people hiding here, he may not see anything, especially in his condition. When the girl spoke, he whirled around, and paused for a moment as his head whirled before he could hiss at her to shut up again. Though, after a moment, of listening with a cocked head he nodded slowly. "Right. If anyone were here they would have reacted to that," he grumbled, then he huffed out a heavy, and admittedly shaky, breath. "Fine. Let's find a house or... something we could stay in," he sighed, honestly just exhausted and wanting nothing more than to pass out in a bed somewhere.

Ella glared at Sage for a long couple of seconds, running her hand down her left arm as a fly settled itself below her elbow. "Did your father ever call you insufferable? Because you damn well are." She mumbled, leaning against the house behind them and scraping the bricks with her finger, simply just thinking for a second.Finding a house would have most definitely been a good idea but it was also incredibly risky. If she walked in through an open door and someone was hiding or even living there, they would have a very slight problem. After a couple minutes she finally decided an answer, looking up at Sage. "Fine. Go." She said, gesturing vaguely towards the road ahead of her. She would have rathered just search alone that have him complain about every word she said.

Sage scowled at the girls comment about his father, pinching his lips together. "No," he finally decided on. Normally, the names were much worse than that. Though, he wasn't going to let on that he had daddy issues to the girl. Of course, after his one outburst a few days ago in that cell, she could catch on rather quickly if she thought about it as anything but something to taunt him about. Of course, he'd much rather her use his daddy issues, as she'd put it, to mock him than figure out the real truth about how bad it was ....but whatever. He just huffed out a breath in response to her comment, stomping off. Well ...in his head he was stomping. In reality, he was still limping along, just too tired to care much. Besides, the more he walked the worse it got, so when he came across a cabin looking thing, he just stalked in and collapsed on one of the couches with a wince. He did it once the girl came in though, making it look as cocky and bored as possible. Though, he'd passed out pretty quickly after that, so hopefully she wouldn't think too much of it.

Ella could do nothing other than roll her eyes vigorously at Sages reaction to her walking in, simply just flopping down clearly trying to make a point. She sighed, and bit back her insulting words and instead settling down as far away from him as she could. It took her a considerable amount of time to even fall asleep because though she was exhausted, she was also in a lot of pain and in general incredibly unhappy. Eventually though she pressed her eyes shut forcefully, and managed to fall asleep within a couple more minutes, only then realising how tired she actually was.

Sage didn't much care what the girl did, and by the time she'd gotten inside he was pretty much already out. He woke up a couple hours later with a start, when he heard something moving, but once he realized it was just the girl shifting in her sleep he calmed down again with a quiet sigh. He tried to fall back asleep, but it just didn't work, so after another hour or so, he just gave up on trying to get any more sleep and mvoed to the window, sitting down in the chair by it and resting his head against the cool glass, letting himself just relax and...think through some things. In all honesty, he had no idea what he was doing...or where he was going, or if the trail they were following was even the right one. And did he want his father back? he didn't think so. No, he knew so. But....it was his responsibility to help the men and families that he was in charge of. Or, would be in charge of whenever his dad decided to finally die and leave him alone.
