Tucker felt a deep sense of comfort wash over him as his breathing steadied, his body finally loosening from the tension that had gripped him. The soft hand running through his hair felt soothing, and for the first time in what felt like forever, he was able to just breathe. The sourness that had once clung to him seemed to fade with every calm breath. He didn’t need to see Kyle's face to know that he was watching, his smile warm and knowing. He could feel the calming presence of the voice in his head too, its gentle encouragement bringing him peace. Tucker let out a soft sigh, allowing himself to feel safe, even in the midst of everything that had happened. "Good job, huh?" he whispered to himself, smiling faintly. Maybe things weren’t so bad after all, not with Kyle and the voice there with him.

Kyle discussed with the voice that was speaking through him in their own head about what they should do now. They agreed that Tucker and Theodore needed comforted still and that it would be best if Kyle sat back for a while to both rest and since he wasn't amazing at comforting. And so that was what happened. Kyle went back to sleep in his own mind while this voice continued to comfort their mate. "I imagine both of you feel much better now?" The voice spoke again as he looked down at Tucker, "not fighting with your wolf or your person is quite straining on the body for both sides."

Tucker, still adjusting to the sudden peace, nodded slowly, his body beginning to unwind at last. His mind felt clearer, the tension that had knotted his muscles and his thoughts slowly loosening. It wasn’t that he was completely healed, but there was a definite shift in how he felt, like a storm was finally passing. He didn’t speak at first, unsure of what to say, but his eyes softened, and he gave a small, almost imperceptible nod. His words came out quietly but with truth: “Yeah. I think... I think we do.” Theodore, still processing everything, was more reserved in his response, though the change in him was palpable. His posture had softened, the guarded tension easing in his shoulders. It was clear that he too was feeling the weight lift, the space between himself and his wolf, and himself and his human side, now at least momentarily at peace. He didn’t have the words for it yet, but the relief was there. His gaze met the voice, and though he didn’t speak, his small nod spoke volumes. “Much better,” he murmured, his voice quiet but firm. It was all that needed to be said.
