Sage had tensed up again when he'd heard the man's voice, sort of moving to float in the corner, sort of thankful the sand was billowing around and the water was cloudy. Hopefully he couldn't see him. Thankfully, he moved on soon enough, and then the rest of them drifted off one by one, all disappearing within a few minutes. He sort of just drifted around happily for a while, until the sand had all settled, and then moved to explore the new enclosure a bit. He slipped around, inspecting every nook and cranny before popping his head out of the water with a happy chatter to get Oliver's attention. "Can I have some of the kelp and algae," he asked, pointing to the bucket full of food.

Oliver let out a small sigh, the workers were cleared out after a few moments leaving her on the platform by herself. She really didn't have any other plans for the day but she also for some reason didn't want to leave the poolside yet. Oliver went on her phone and occassionally glanced at the pool seeing the sand settle little by little. Eventually she heard a familar happy chatter, she looked up and without knowing it a small smile appeared on her face seeing the siren. "Yeah, of course" She said, standing up and making her way to the bucket. Oliver brought it over to the pool side so that he could get his fair share of whatever he wanted. "How are you liking it?" She asked as she glanced at the pool then over at him, observing the new markings that seem to have appeared out of no where on his body.

Sage gave the girl a grin when she brought the plants over, and sort of gathered a little bit of everything before moving down to the sand and planting them, humming a slight tune until they grew and grew, so they mimicked the ocean in the pool. They'd be kept alive by magic, which was good for him. He sort of moved to weave a sort of nest with the sand and then a cave of kelp up and around it, so he had a place to sleep comfortably, and hide from attention when he wanted to. Once that was done he popped back up to answer her question. "It's a lot better than concrete," he noted with slight amusement.

Oliver watched with great interest as the siren took a few pieces of kelp and algae before diving off. She got right to the edge of the pool and watched as he scattered them around then she heard a light humming come from the water. At first she had no clue what he was doing but soon she saw the blurry pieces of plants grow bigger and bigger. Eventually the pool look like the bottom of the ocean and admittedly it did look pretty amazing. She then watched as Sage swam around making..? a few things before coming back up. She smiled a bit at his response "I bet it is. That's pretty cool how you made the plants grow... Does that mean your powers are better now that your in salt water?" She asked being curious.

Sage chuckled lightly in response to her comments and then shrugged in response to her question. "It makes it more potent...the sound waves travel better, yadda yadda yadda. Didn't pay much attention to what they were talking about in class. The teacher was rude," he said with another shrug before glancing back down at the pool. "It's an old gardening technique...mom taught it to me a while back," he told the girl. "I figured it would make them grow enough to make it look a bit more like home." Then he grunted. "The salt waters just easier to breathe. I just feel better. And the markings show up....but they're mostly for communicating with other deep sea sirens," he explained, lighting up a few of the markings along his arms and chest in demonstration. "It's good for hunting or in murky or dark waters." There were smaller marks along his neck and some on his jaw, by his ear....but those weren't for common communication, and unless she asked he figured he wouldnt try to explain them.

Oliver snorted lightly at his answer to her question before just nodding "Makes sense for the small bits you said" She sort of teased before listening to him again. Her gaze went back into the pool seeing all of the plants that he had grown "Yeah, you did a good job with it" She told him then let him continue to speak. As she listened she took a mental note of what he all said so that she could right it down in a information log. It would be good for her to know to log these things in case they ever got another siren in the place. Oliver watched with fascination as the marks lite up along his chest and arms, she notied the markings along his neck and jaw but thought they really didn't do anything. But if they did work then she would ask when she say them. "That's all really interesting and I guess it would make sense that you feel better and what-not now that your in salt water. It really was dumb that we put regular tap water in for a creature like you..." She stated just sort of shaking her head at the thought of their stupid mistake.

Sage chuckled lightlly in response to her comment, looking back over at the pool at her next. "I did what I could," he mused softly. Though, he gave her a tight smile in response to her comment about being stupid. "You didn't exactly know anything about sirens," he noted. "And its not like they care all that much," he added, sort of just pointing out the obvious. He cocked his head slightly and eyed her after a moment. "I'm not sure whether you being nice is genuine or not...but even if it's not you're someone to talk to," he huffed out after a moment. "I don't want them to catch another siren though...so you're stuck with talking to me," he chirped in a sort of false cheer. He didn't exacly like that she still saw him as just a pretty creature...a pet...but it was something. And at this point, even if she gave him negative attention, he figured he'd just take it. At least it was something. And...well...he was sort of used to rough treatment. His life back in the ocean wasn't all handy dandy and wonderful. He was silent for a moment before dropping his gaze. "Tell your dad that as long as they treat me alright I'll do what he wants," he whispered slightly. "Even with the salt water I can't fight forever." He turned his gaze back to her, open this time, with eyes that seemed almost like shattered glass. "I've tried before," he whispered softly, turning his magic down for a moment to show the dozens of scars it normally covered up. "It never works," he added before deciding he'd done much more than he should have and diving abck down, slowly entering his cave of kelp and settling down there with a sigh, mind reeling with memories.
