Online trainers/armchair trainers bug me so much, especially when they do harmful things with their big followings

As someone who doesn't get to be around horses much I always look for some context in the comments for horsey people to explain a video that was put in a bad light. I also get to learn more about things that way aswell.

I've seen that and don't agree with it at all. Hate the bloody internet trainers. Wasn't there one going about a couple months ago talking about her 36 Olympic horses ro something like that?
Dandelion Farms

It also doesn't help that, with the small snippets where a horse could've bucked or reared due to an unknown reason or god forbid a teenage is riding a pony that any equestrian familiar with size and weight for a horse would recognize, some "online trainer" somewhere feels the need to bash the rider because the horse is" in pain" or "is green and needs more handling before being ridden under saddle." It sickens me going through comments on videos. Especially when non-equestrians pop in...

Ari exactly, same goes with dog breeders too most ethical people breed to maintain good form and health but all you hear about is puppy mills and puts breeders as a whole in a bad light to a lot of people.

Yup, all for views and controversy and shock value. Especially when it's marketed towards non horsey folk

Even well respected and seasoned horsemen once in a while should go back to the basics and establish more bonding and humble themselves. Everyone can do with a bit of humbling once in a while. We often lose sight of the small things as humans

I agree Quality, and oftentimes because of phone cameras etc people film the bad apples and try to paint everyone in the same light when in reality it's a few shitty trainers in a big field of really good horse people
QualitySH
12:11:41
I feel like there is nothing wrong with the horse industry as a whole. Some bad apples ruin the reputation but is often a very small percentage of the horse loving community.

In the end, its what's best for the horses not the people riding them. Horses didnf choose to be riden but they tolerate it

With that all said, there's no use trying to sway someone's opinion, especially without proven research and valid examples. The rules of horse racing are updated when problems arise and they are strictly enforced.

I think there are many people in the horse world who've lost touch with the animals and human bonds.....a lot of people need to go back to the basics

I think there is always a stigma in any hobby really and opinions that always clash against each other.

Well I can assure you that I have not witnessed the kinds of things you are talking about amongst my competitors and peers, so I'm glad that the things you've seen and talked about are not universal and mostly localised problems

Louis stopped, and nodded. "Well then you show me the way back to the castle." He said, looking up, his eyes glistening. "I'd follow you anywhere." Louis got up. The sky was glistening in the night, and it was starting to get nippy. "Whatever you do, do it fast." He laughed, his body wracked in shivers.

Chris looked at Louis as he spoke and was caught by the second sentence he had said. After a moment he was snapped out of it by Louis telling him to hurry it up. Then with a sigh his gaze turned back to Louis. "I suppose," he says, "there is no quicker way back. But if this passage leads to another trap I swear to god.." He sent Louis a slight glare at this last part before his gaze drifted to the dark passage in front of them.

Louis laughed slightly. "It won't!!" He sung. Shuffling up the passage, he gave Chris a quick nudge. "Move up." He whispered, shuffling forward some more. "We're nearly there." The cold night was prickling them, and Louis shivered, cold.

Chris began to walk as Louis did and had to catch himself as he nearly tripped due to the pain of his wound that had returned due to the other's nudge. He had to pause momentarily to let the pain subside before starting to walk again. He curse a bit under his breath as a cold breeze nipped at them from outside of the passage. He noticed Louis shivering out of the corner of his gaze and moved his arm to wrap it around him and pull the other closer, in an attempt to share heat since Christopher himself was naturally warm.

Louis moved it to Chris' touch, and continued shuffling forward. Some light emerged from in front of them, and Louis sighed in relief. "Thank the gods." He said, and looked over at Chris. "This will take us just inside the castle gates." He explained. "Once we get out, make a run for a side entrance or open window."

Chris walked silently with Louis through the passage until light began to appear. At Louis's words he nodded some and continued walking until they were out of the passage. Once there he made a break for the side entrance before remembering that he could teleport. -Why didn't I do this sooner,- he thought to himself and cursed lightly as he slapped his forehead and, after taking Louis's arm in his, teleported them up to his room.
