Sage wrinkled his nose slightly in resposne to her comment, though shrugged in agreement. That was a pretty fair statement actually, even though they were just joking around. Though, at her next comment he sort of just gave her a bit of a grin. "Ah, but where's the fun in that," he noted with a small laugh, shaking his head slightly. Of course, he then moved to nod when she mentioned Silas tormenting other people instead of them, at least for a little bit. They both loved the boy's ebergetic and bubbly nature....but it was true, he'd let someone else get some energy out of him before he came home a few days a week or whatever.

Mari rolled her eyes at him, and leaned in to press a light kiss to his cheek. "The fun? It might mean you can put what little you have of your back into something better than jumping around," she mused lightly to him. It was all in play, though. He would jump around no matter what she said.

Sage sort of pouted at the woman in response to her commetn, shaking his head. "I dunno, there's something entertaining about rolling around on the floor like that," he mused. "Maybe its because I can barely keep up with whatever the kids are doing," he added with a sort of chuckle. "Besides, I haven't thrown my back out yet so I'm fine," he added with a chirp, pecking her lightly on the forehead.

Mari gave him a rather funny look after a moment, sort of snorting sarcastically. "Yeah, it's super entertaining. Watching you run around after the kids, flopping around on the floor like some sort of fish," she went on for a moment, then raised her brows lightly. "Well, that is until I have to help you get up and you drag me down with you. It becomes more of an issue we're both stuck on the floor, mind," she then added lightly. She nodded in agreement. "Babe, it's gonna happen soon. You don't have to keep up with the kids all the time," she chuckled lightly.

Sage chuckled softly and rolled his eyes. "Hey, I don't make fun of watching you struggle," he whined, though clearly still enjoying their banter. "Well, I do have the couch generally, to make sure that doesn't happen," he noted lightly, wrinkling his nose with a sort of hum. "Well, I certainly hope its not anytime soon," he noted. "That would be boring, to say the least." He did hope he never got to the point where he couldn't go do anything. Work with the horses, hunt, even just wandder the woods. Be outside. That was jsut...who he was. He couldn't imagine just sitting around inside all day because of his body.

Mari rolled her eyes at him, gently bumping his side before rolling over so that she was sort of half laying on him. "Well, my dearest husband, that's because I don't put myself in situations where I have to struggle, unlike some." She then puckered her lips, her expession light. "It would be boring, wouldn't it..." she trailed off, rolling her eyes. "Which is why you need to oook after yourself! You're going to do you back in at some point, probably messing about with Silas and then it'll never be the same again," she teased softly to him. "So, don't worry play games you can't keep up with, don't over do it and look after yourself. Take time to relax so that when you're old and ugly I don't have to watch you make a fool of yourself struggling to get up," she laughed lightly.

Sage just laughed in response to her comment, pecking the side of her head and wrapping his arms around her when she curled up and rolled over. "I do just fine," he protested with a laugh, shaking his head. "Silas is not going to break me," he added, voice laced with amsuement. "He might break my brain sometimes," he noted after a moment, relanting a little bit. It was more just joking around than anything, though the boy's constant chatter did sometimes break his brain a little bit. "Well, sounds to me like you think i'm already old," he teased lightly.

Mari rolled her eyes at him after a moment, and gave a light chuckle. "Babe, you know I love you more than anything, right? So when I tell you that the child will break you at some point, I really mean it," she hummedwith a light snicker. It was all games, though... he knew she loved the child too. She sort of shrugged when he said it sounded like she already thought he was old. "Eh, you're getting on a little. Not that old yet," she mused, leaning in to press her lips to his, lingering for a moment before pulling away and looking at him with a bit of a grin. "And I love you enough that when you do get old, and your brain is permanently broken, I'll put everything we have into making sure you get the best care in whatever nursing home we send you off to," she joked lightly.

Sage wrinkled his nose in a sort of amused manner, chuckling softly when she mentioned the boy breaking him at some point. "Give me another ten years, then I might start slowing down a little bit," he noted lightly, pecking her forehead, grin lingering on his face. "Oh gee, good to know you'll just ship me off the moment I start getting difficult," he teased her lightly, attempting to keep a straight face and quite obviously failing to do so.

Mari snorted lightly at him before moving to press a soft kiss to his nose again. "Ten years? You're already slowing down. Imagine what you'll be like then," she mused lightly to him, clearly just messing around. She huffed you a gentle breath after a moment, then. She looked thoughtful, bouncing her head from side to side. "You're already difficult," she mused lightly, leaning in to press a light kiss to his lips. "You're just lucky you're handsome. Imagine how hard you'd be to handle when your mind is gone and you don't have anything to do with yourself - and you're all old?!" Edited at January 13, 2025 03:44 PM by Belle
