Were people abusing the FR feature that much? It went in sometime during my hiatus and I have also noticed a big shift in the economy and the way things move. Upgrades still go for 150-175k but T4 art that used to be 5k-10k apiece(for the new artists) is now 25-40k. I make most of my ebs off selling upgrades and I have to start showing geldings because soon I won't be able to afford that with moving house. I guess if you have thirty 100-stall barns full of horses then yeah, 3mil is a lot(not really) but it seems to be making the game more difficult in a bad way? I guess it evens the playing field between established and new players.
100k just doesn't take you anywhere anymore, it's like 100k is the new 20k.

In a way, yes. There were some stables who ended up with millions upon millions and that, itself, is crazy. I can see the trouble there and understand. I do. Genuinely.
.
However, unfortunately, even though it evens it in that aspect- I think some of the damage has already been done and it's also hurting the game more than helping in other aspects. I can't see this evening out the playing field in a good way. There is a LOT less money floating around now and although 20k may have been the intended price of a stud fee in the past, what's happening now is all of the stables earning 200 and 300k per stud fee for popular breeds (X, TB, SH), are just going to continue to sven and ask 200 to 300k for their top stallions. Sven is top of boards. While the newer stables who made profit and built up off of their studs from hundreds of foals to hundreds of mares, aren't going to be able to earn as much money because - well - those foals net a worth of 0, which makes the studs ignored. Because now it's about quality, quality, quality. Best studs, not quantity and lower studs.
.
Less foals, also means less hay purchased.
.
Really, what this is currently doing, is making it so horses have no real base value beyond 100 foals. And due to that, other things are going down in value and usage, too. It's limiting income almost purely to geldings.

Not sure if this is a myth or not, but I only breed 3-4 foals a year because I've heard those get the best chance. With the introduction of embryos, I'm now hoarding 3-5 embryos every year. I don't want to waste them but I'm not sure what to do with them either. And with the cost of studs, embryo fees, and items, my mares cost 500k or so each breeding!! The only way to make that money back is to get a WWW or an EWW filly, as colts sell for 150k or so and EEEs sell for (40k-7k) depending on their colour and gender. I totally understand that breeding is a money sink but it's crazy to see how you can't even sell foals for that much anymore.

I'd give it a try again. I'm curious. I used to see pieces go for 1-2mil consistently, if they were good- but now I'm seeing a lot of artists, unless they make something extremely fantastic and detailed, get around 200-600k depending on who it is
Honestly, HEE is a really cool social experiment to compare to real life ecomic crisis 😂. Back in march I sold one for 1.5 and the other for 2.5 mil within an hour of posting, but yes I've also seen amazing pieces not even hit the "all cuts" mark at 500k or so, or barely go above that. And then I've seen t4-t3 hit 200k+ when a few years ago they wouldn't even hit 30k.

I can only really afford three to five foals anyways so whether it's real or not, it's all I do. LOL.
.
I used to breed for fun. But the foals don't sell. So I just can't bring myself to anymore. It doesn't bring in any kind of profit, nobody wants them. And then, as said, hay isn't selling either. So I don't have any real use for my hay pastures, they make way more than I need anymore since I'm not breeding for fun.
.
I don't know what to do if my slots aren't going to sell.

Is it allowable to make a suggestion to raise the FR cap? Obviously not remove it, but raise it to 500 or 1000? It won't fix the problem, hell, it won't do much at all, but right now 100k is enough of a joke that I'm not even bothering with gathering FR fodder.

Go for it! I know there was plenty of backlash when it was first introduced and I know that there is definitely still disagreement about it BUT if I'm being honest, I will be surprised if Eve does actually decide to change the cap.

I don't know how much attention the suggestion would receive, but I think it'd help balance out the economy again to make sure people can actually breed foals for fun, also without letting them go crazy wild. A higher cap doesn't seem unreasonable in my eyes.

I believe at least a try could be very helpful

Looked through the suggestions and it's been suggested several times, and locked every time. Eve herself said(albeit 2 years ago) that the cap won't be raised. Extremely disappointing, but it is what it is I guess.
Disappointing thing is showing isn't an option for some. Some people just don't and can't grasp the concept no matter how it's spun, so where do they get their money if they're not an artist, top breeder, or willing to spend RL money?

I remember that it was a pretty touchy subject when it was first capped, but I think trying to see what the general community thinks would be good!
