I totaly believe this, I have a EWW stud that matched well with a few WEE mares. He has strong Wc's and the mares had strong Wc in dressage. I still have not gotten anything good out of them other than a PWE mixes. This is coming from a stud and mares that have the potential to give me a WWW. I def recived more EEEs than Wc out of my Wc horses.

I think it's just confirmation bias, and like others have already said, the fact that you'll generally breed your most exciting matches first. I don't see how this could have been implemented especially with the rise of embryos - that said, I'm superstitious af and will still be abiding to it lol

as a psych enthusiast I like this answer a lot and heavily relate lol Tanglewood said: I think it's just confirmation bias, and like others have already said, the fact that you'll generally breed your most exciting matches first. Ellsworths Eden said: Not real. Most people do their most exciting and most promising matches first. Pretty sure staff has disproven this several times. Plus, why would they code that? It seems silly and pointless.
Totally agree with this, as I do this too. Most people do their most exciting and generally expensive matches first with items and top studs/mares, so the likelihood of the foal coming out well rated is higher. Plus, this personally doesn't happen to me, as I'll get a few nice ratings near to the end of my breeding from time to time :)

Not real! I've had great ratings come from 5th or 6th matches. Just this RO I got a stunning WWW filly on my 5th match after getting two a few matches before.

As a relatively new player I haven't found my first 4 matches to result in my best foals. Even when I breed my couple of WWE mares first (all of whom have produced WWEs or WWWs at this point, so I know they're decent). If I can afford it, I embryo them and I just want back and did some napkin math - so far its exactly 50/50 if their first embryo or second embryo is the better foal between the 3 of them. This RO wasn't great for me, but 193 was awesome and both WWW fillies I bred happened well after my first 4 matches. My first 4 matches in 193 were good, but then my funds were sapped so I did my cheap color breeding until I showed my way back into the green and then did the rest of my WEE girlies which resulted in 1 EWW and 2 WWW as well as a handful of EEWs. Alls to say at this point I am a total non-believer in the first 4 matches result in your best ratings! Edited at September 5, 2025 06:17 AM by Windy Hollow Farms
