Thanks! I decided to stop replacing riders when horses are in red since typically the ones in red aren't ready to show anyways and the riders typically level up before their show ready anyways

I've no clue I'm afraid. I know my eventing futurity riders usually level up within a year or two, and the SD ones always level during the year, but they're all the highest level ones at the start of the month so maybe 2 months if I had to guess?

My Opinion on Horse Prices. July 1, 2019 07:36 PM

Now, this is my opinion on what I think is 'cheap' and expensive.

I see nearly all people call 'cheap' over $1000. Whereas I have seen a few people who have called cheap under $1000, which is appropriate in my opinion.

If I were to say "CHEAP HORSES" or something with cheap in it, it will be under $1000. Over $1000 is classified expensive, but waaaay over $1000 would most definitely be expensive.

Now, I have said this because people think over $1000 or at $1000 is cheap. I mean for really good horses for $1000 is very good, but average horses that are... Let's say just got captured, then $1000 isn't the best, and it should not be classified as cheap.

But I understand that prices of horses at $1000 is almost nothing for a lot of people, but me and possibly other people find it unfair because it's tough getting a good amount of Eden Bucks such as majority of Horse Eden members.

KEEP IN MIND: If they are under $1000 horses, it will go higher once the second person bids and so on. Let's say I make a horse $600, the second person will have to pay $1600. $400, $1400. Every bid it goes higher.

In case you didn't fully understand, I will put points of what I have said more small and understandable.

1. I call 'cheap' under $1000 horses.
2. Expensive is over $1000 horses.
3. Good horses for $1000 could be classified cheap, depending on how good the horse is.
4. For people like me and others that have trouble gaining a good amount of Eden Bucks, such as majority of users, I think it's unfair for horses to be 'cheap' for them, but expensive for us.
5. Depending on how much the horse is (under $1000) it will be a lot when the second person bids. (It will go higher every time someone bids.)

Thank you for reading. Now, again, this is my opinion. You have the right to think differently.

Each person in the game starts with 50k. How you choose to spend your EBs varies from person to person. As a stable who has worked extremely hard and LONG to get where I am... I've earned the right to call a 50k crappy eee cheap.

Also. Is this a suggestion? A complaint? And what is the point of this because I'm quite confused?

Save your money, don't buy unneeded items (art, tack), show your horses, and 1k will eventually be cheap for you, too.

Yeah, I just spend it on horses and training my horses. One way I rely on is auctioning horses, but people don't tend to buy them, so I don't go anywhere much.

I guess it could be a complaint. I just wanted people to know what I think.

Put your horses at less than $1000 and they'll just get bought up for the FR. You get paid $1000 for each 2 year old and up you release. Plus even though you don't get any money for releasing a yearling, you DO get store points for tack, etc. Lots of folks run the auctions buying as many $1000 and under as they can to get the money/points or to fulfill quests.

First piece of advice: FR everything that isn't at least PPP or better. Geld everything that isn't 2E. Don't breed anything for at least 2 game years. Fill your barns with single E geldings (plentiful and really cheap right now after RO), train them in their E discipline and show your buns off. Enter only those horses with at least 4 weeks training or which have finished above 7th place in their last show. Guaranteed you'll make money. I have fewer than 50 horses, most of them under level 4 and I've made $45,000 this year (3 days).

Second piece of advice: If you're going to auction a horse off so cheap that other people are getting more benefit from it than you are, FR it and get the money/points for yourself instead.

FR is Free Range, also known as setting your horse free.

PPP and E are ratings. Each horse has three letter ratings (four if Bravery is counted but for our sake we'll leave it out). One rating for dressage, one rating for cross country, one rating for show jumping. In order of worst to best rating it's Sup-par, Average, Superb, Premium, Elite, World Class. They are abbreviated Sub, A, S, P, E, and W. So, as an example, a PPP is a horse that is Premium in all three ratings. A horse that is EASub is Elite in dressage, Average in cross country, and Sub-par in show jumping.

RO is rollover, the first of every month when the game resets. Events such as horses aging and the breeding count change.

Sometimes you get lucky and players will sell you a string of geldings for a cheaper price (not necessarily 1,000 ebs, but cheaper than you would find in the sales). Try posting an ad in the 'Wanted Ads' section of the forums - you may get lucky!

But I took a look at your account....the #1 way to make money in this game is to show! Not the most glamorous but I find it fun watching my geldings level up and start winning their shows!

You have to figure out what you want to do with your game. Do you want to complete quests? Do you want to breed for color? Just for fun? Try to get to the top of the leaderboards? Whatever it may be, showing is the only way to make enough money to do what you please!

*If I were you, this is what I would do*I would sell all your mares/fillies or free range them. I am on my second game year and personally don't want to start breeding until I can afford really good lines for my breeding stock. I haven't decided at what point that will be, but mares/fillies don't show as well as geldings OR you have to pay 200ebs PER MARE PER YEAR for the Cycle Suppressant (so they'll be as competitive). Not worth it IMO.

Next - geld all your stallions. I saw 3 that are rated that you could keep but sell/fr all the A combos or S combos even! I have one gelding who is SSS -he definitely took longer to start showing well but he's been making a profit for a longer period too...I also have P/P/S combos who show well. I wouldn't buy a gelding with an S rating (or lower) in XC. You could keep the ones that aren't rated but that's a guessing game and will take you forever to rate them all as a free stable.

Sell 2 of your 25 stall barns. Keep one to fill with good quality geldings. By selling the 2 barns, you will get 150,000 ebs to spend on said geldings. As mentioned by other players - PPP or something with one E is best! I was able to buy all my Level 2 geldings for 2,000 (ish) ebs. Just pay attention that they aren't too old. I would look at anything under 8 if you can, since the older they are the less time you have to show them. You have to invest in these horses as they will work their digitized hearts out for you week in and week out. 1,000 ebs probably won't buy you PPP horses or even PPS combo horses, and if they do, they won't have any training and you'll have to spend a month waiting for them to train up before you can see any profit (TRUST ME.)

Hyrim is an older player who wrote an awesome guide on a bunch of things, one of them being how to successfully show! I used to play back when she was around and followed this guide to a T and became very successful....I came back and started this game by following that guide...needless to say I am in my 2nd game year and looks like I'm up for a couple awards, I am doubling the profit I made in my first month, as well as the number of geldings I have AND am able to put money into my savings account for future breeding stock. I should note, I'm not trying to brag at all! Just trying to show that this guide works - I can find the link and either send it to you or post here :)

Sorry for the long text, I just saw your post and offer some "quick" advice lol ;)

Feel free to message me if you have any questions, etc!
