| My mother in law doesnt groom her dogs hair. She gets it shaved every spring. Hes an outdoor farm dog and gets matted by fall and stays like that all winter long |

| Daisy is a poodle/old english sheep dog. She's got the dense OESD hair with the poodle curl. She loved to get groomed and will lay down for mom to brush her. She'll still mat, and pretty much just stays shaved because of that and because she'll track in half the dirt in the yard |

| I have a nonshed constantly matting dog who gets brushed regularly, and I still have to do my own trims in between expensive grooming trips |

| Some dogs will just mat up, regardless of how often they're brushed |

| The only long coated dog ill own is a Newfoundland water dog but other than that it's a nope |

| Yep, if you're too dam lazy to take 15 minutes to run a brush over your dog once a day (at least) then get a short haired breed for god sakes. |

| 2/3 dogs I've owned as and adult have been double coat breeds. Just saying, the under coat blowout season is always fun lol |

| Worst I ever saw was a sheltie with such a tightly matted coat it bruised her skin :( and talon toes of course |

| One of the neighbors had a golden retriever outside 24/7 in a kennel with a cable and a training collar the dog's coat was severely matted and animal control was called |

| Worst case I ever saw, was an Old English Sheepdog. Had twigs embedded in it's coat the size of a pencil, 2 fish hooks, loaded with fleas and ticks. Pure neglect. |
