A clap of thunder echoes across the paddock, and most of the herd bolts in a flurry of hooves. Near the center, a mare stands tall, calm and steady, with her young colt trembling at her side. The colt skitters a few steps, ears pinned and tail flicking nervously, while the mare nudges him gently and lowers her head in reassurance. Slowly, she steps forward, and the colt begins to follow, still a little hesitant but trusting her lead. Together, they reach the gate, the mare guiding her little one as they choose to follow you home.
