Thanks for your input everybody. I currently only have SD gelds. Is it better to have SD or AD? Is SD better when just learning on showing?

Yeah I would show SSS or higher however there are bad geldings at all ratings. They'd end up not showing very well and costing more to enter than they'd make back

I don't even care about rating. I have multiple SSS or worse geldings

When I used to show and had a lot of geldings I'd cull based on training

Neither do I. As long as they are EEE or above they stay and show until they die

I don't cull geldings

I just do it when I get tired of looking at them tbh. Though I also approach how I enter shows differently than most I think, where I'll show them outside of their main discipline depending on their stats. So if they don't train well in the stats that are best for cross-disciplines (Strength, Speed, and Heart) I might get rid of them then too.

How do you know when to cull a gelding from your show string?

How many foals does a mare need to have to hit the LBs?

Ugh, skipped the 'geld 25 only to get' geld 300'. At least I can skip again tomorrow and concentrate on the explore quest today.

I don't understand how to use the BM effectively with AD horses (which all mine are) so I tough it out and hand enter all of them

I suck at hand entering. I never seem to make a profit unless I use BM and then do the easy show hand entry

I don't use the BM but with hand entering I like to only enter levels 4 and above so having them separate would be very helpful

Thursday - Saturday I mean

It definitely makes it easier 😂 I put the older geldings on BM Monday-Wednesday and then younger ones on BM Thursday- Friday. Thats mainly why they are separated

Nice!
This is kind of random but I might need to steal your idea with having your older gelding and younger geldings split. All my are yeeted together and I just hppe for the best when I enter them xD

My geldings make it easier for sure.

Ella had been around horses before she could even walk. Her mother used to take her down to the stables when she was young and honestly she loved every minute of it. As Ella grew older she began to get more experience with the horses. She would show every weekend and would always been down at the stables all day everyday. A few years later Ella decided to start her own team of elite show jumpers. Most of them were very successful and once they were retired they would be turned out in the field to live there days out and if they were healthy enough they were put into foal. Ella then decide she wanted to take her skills further and applied for they yearly brumby round up which took place every year in February. So as they date neared of the muster Ella made the long trip to were the brumbies would be held for a couple of days. Ella was excited and also nervous as this was her first time doing something like this but everyone had faith in her and knew she could do it.

The day of the round up
Ella was leaning on the fence as she watched the first group of brumbies being brought in. As they ran into the pens, she studied each of them but didnt find anything that caught her eye so she decided to wait and to see what the other horses were like. Group after group the brumbies were brought in but still none that Ella wanted until the last group of brumbies were brought in. Ella climbed upon the fence and got a better look. She eyed up what seemed to be a bay stallion with 2 back stockings and a blaze. The stud seemed to be confused but there was just something about him that made Ella pick him. "I'll take him" Ella called as she pointed to the stud, two guys nodded and moved him away from the herd and into a separate pen. Ella went back and scanned the herd again, this time spotting a dark brown mare with what seemed to be light highlights on her body and a big star on her forehead "I'll also take that mare to" she said. Ella watched as the mare was moved into the pen next to the stud she had chosen. She jumped off of the fence and walked towards the pen, she sighed this was just the beginning.
