They warned me, but yet I ignored them. I was foolish to think someone cared, that someone truly loved me for me, but I'm just a toy for them. Someone who could be toyed with, it was silly to think she wanted me for me. Now, look at me, sitting in this bar with others like me. I'm broken and nobody wants a broken toy, my phone vibrated in my pocket. I pulled the phone out, a single text appeared on the lock screen, I wasn't over her yet but she was over me. 'Emma' the phone's blinding lights remind me of her, she was always smiling and glowing. 'Hey, you wanna go to the movies tomorrow?' the text read, I want to say no but I can't bring myself to do it. She irresistible, yet she's bad for me but I can't it hurts when I think about it. They tell me to move on, as if it only took a single thought, 'I would've left a long time ago' they say when they've never felt this way about someone before.
My hand tightens around the beer that I've been drinking, the glass was threatening to crumble under my strength, good it would make me feel something. Anything would make me feel better, the pain would remind me that I'm human not the toy, my grip on the bottle wavers as I look down. I set the bottle down when another vibration came from the phone, I twirl the phone as I study it, my mind a mess while I look at the phone. Her name appeared once more, I don't even take a second glance when I see the name, it would hurt even more if I read the text.
(I don't usually post in first-person sorry if it was bad)
