Be prepared for tears...
"Enzo." Selene hissed through her gritted teeth. Her hands balled into fists behind her back. This was the last thing was expecting tonight.
"The one and only." He greeted from the darkness still. Why he didn't come out yet is a mystery to her. "Did you really think I wouldn't come after you found out about my spy?" He asked her.
She shrugged herself into a sitting position with her legs cross-crossed-applesauce. She glared in the direction she hears his voice coming from. "I don't know. You are a bit unpredictable sometimes." She grumbled as she twisted her arms. She hissed in pain as the rope dug into her flesh, tightening with each move she made. "Then again, I should've been prepared."
He clapped his hands as if applauding her after a great performance. "Well done. I am glad that I am unpredictable as that means I will be an advantage for me in the feature." He rumbled out.
He finally decided to turn the lights on in the house to only reveal himself. His ash blond hair fell to the edge of his ears, having it cover one of his eyes. He had one emerald green eye and she knew that the other was a blood red as she has seen it before. His eyes always held the lust to tear people apart. His frame seemed rather lean, but he was honestly strong, even without his powers trying to get an advantage on someone. His tanned skin defined him nicely, yet it made his eyes pop out and she didn't like that. It always made a chill go up her spine like icy fingers.
She rolled her eyes at him, her lip pulled over her teeth in a sneer. "Not going to kill me? How interesting as I thought you would want to end this all here and now, so I don't come after you later." She was clearly mocking him, and she was having a bit of fun doing so.
His smile that he had on his pale lips turned into a frown. He was letting her words get to him and it might just cost her life. "I never said I wasn't going to kill you, Selene. I am actually going to teach you a lesson on what happens when you mess-"
Before he could finish his sentence, she spits into his face once he was close enough to her. "Torture me all you like but I am not going to tell you where she is." She hissed out between clenched teeth.
He wiped the spit off his face. He glared at her before grabbing her by the collar of her shirt and pulling her harshly towards him. This caused her whole body to jerk forward and her hair to fall into her face, covering it like a curtain. "You listen here you little piece of nothing." He hissed into her ear, causing her to go utterly quiet. "You are going to give her up or your little friend will die when he is least expecting it."
She knew then that Zeke was in danger and was dragged into all of this without her wanting him to be. As much as she didn't want Zeke to be dead, she can't give up any information about her. "Sorry, I still can't do that." She whispered lowly, trying so hard to not have her voice shake.
A grin appeared on his face all of the sudden before pushing her away. A chuckle left his lips as he walked around in a circle around her. "I see you have feelings for this certain mortal human. It seems I have hit a soft spot in you." His grin turned into a smug one as he now knew another thing that she cares about.
"Don't you dare touch him." She lashed out at him but he caught her by her throat. "I will end you if you do." She choked out as his grip on her throat was a bit too tight.
"I would love to see you try when you are even weaker without your wings that I ripped off your body." He dropped her to the ground and watched as she coughs and heaves for air. "I am going to go pay him a visit."
"NO!" She was too late as he already disappeared.
She struggled against the ropes even more but they kept cutting into her, causing her to stop as it wasn't going to be giving in anytime soon. This was not very good at all and she hated that he had something over her head. It made her feel weak and that she couldn't do anything to stop it.
After sitting on the floor in what seemed forever, he finally came back. He wasn't alone though. He brought Zeke with him. Zeke was struggling against the ropes that were tied behind him to keep his hands together. This was getting worse and worse as the minutes passed by.
Enzo threw Zeke down next to her and she instantly looked over at her friend, scanning his body to see if he was okay. "He didn't hurt you, did he?" She whispered to him, worry clearly seen in her eyes.
Zeke's eyes flashed from Enzo to her and he seemed worried about her than himself. "No. I'm fine... for now." He muttered under his breath to her.
"How sweet. Both of you are asking if one another is hurt." Enzo's smirk only enraged her further than she already was. "This is just so beautiful." His smile faded, and she knew he was all strict and business now. "Tell me where Jade is, Selene. If you do, I won't do anything to lover boy here. If you don't, well, you know what will happen."
She looked away from Enzo before she struggled to get up from the floor. She stood tall before him, her eyes hard as stone. "No." There was no way she was going to give Jade up like that, even if that meant losing her friend.
He grinned before he stepped around her, her eyes watching his every movement. He bent down and picked Zeke up by his bicep, pulling her friend against his chest. "Don't play games with me, Selene. You know that I hate it when you do that." He snapped his fingers and a knife appeared in his hands. He positioned it against Zeke's side, just above his hip. "Tell me where she is, Selene. I won't kill lover boy here if you tell me."
She glanced at Zeke, her eyes holding pain, but she said nothing. He shook his head, telling her to not give into Enzo's pitiful attempts to break her. He knew who they were talking about and why they had to keep it a secret. She finally made up her mind on what she was going to do and one of them wasn't going to like it.
"I am not going to say anything, Enzo. My words stand as is." She held her ground. Either way she went, she was losing something.
"I thought you would be smarter than that, Selene. It makes me very sad that you are being so stubborn and losing people you care about to protect Jade." He waved the knife in the air at her. "Oh well. I guess I kind of expected this from you." In a blink of an eye, the blade moved towards his side and plunged into his skin. A gasp left Zeke's lips before he fell to the hard floor, and she instantly regretted her decision. "We will meet again, Selene. You will give me what I want or the next person you care about is going to end up just as Zeke here. You know who that is." With that, he disappeared and the rope that was holding her fell to the ground.
She rushed over to her friend, her hands trembling as she hovered above his fallen body. Tears built in her eyes as her hands pressed against his side. She can't believe she just didn't give Jade up. "I'm so sorry, Zeke." She choked out, trying to hold her tears back. "I'm so sorry."
He reached up weakly and pressed his hand against her cheek, a small smile on his lips. "You did the right thing, Selene. It was for Jade's sake. If he found her, we both know what would happen." He whispered.
She knew his life was slipping between her fingers. She was not going to have it. She didn't want to lose one of the few people she cares for. The tears that she was holding back finally fell. "But I am losing you, Zeke. I-I just can't..." She couldn't finish as her sobs started to get in the way.
He winced in pain as he moved his body slightly, so he was laying on his back. He said nothing as he glanced at her, the light in his eyes fading slowly. "Stop blaming yourself. Knowing you, you are already beating yourself up for not doing anything about it." He watched as she moved closer, her hand still applying pressure to his wound. "There is no way you are going to be able to save me. Your powers are not strong enough to save me since you lost your wings." He whispered, his voice starting to fade as well.
"Zeke Joseph Carter, don't you dare die on me." She gritted out between her tightly clenched teeth. He was right though, about her powers. Usually she would be able to heal him, but her wings held most of her powers. They were weakened since she didn't have them. Now she can't save him, and she was dying on the inside that she couldn't save him.
He smiled at her that he used his full name. She only did that when she was sad, mad, or irritated with him for something that he has done. The same goes for the thought about her wanting him to tell her something that he is hiding.
