I caught a trivia night once! I was somewhat expecting the trivia questions to be horse themed, but it was more so a general spread of pop culture questions. I usually don't participate in trivia irl - it requires a wide base of knowledge, and my memory is unreliable at best. That being said, the event I joined was so laid back, everyone was super friendly, and I even walked away with prizes (ebs)!
I haven't been back primarily because I'm usually busy on my Sundays. I use this game to fill up small gaps of time throughout my day (usually less than an hour), and if I can be completely honest, trivia just isn't something that I'm interested in enough to make time for, irl or in game.
A moderator asked what could be done to make it more enticing for people to join - I thought the ebs prizes were generous the last time I played. Possible suggestions would include, re-rolls, EEE+ horses, maps, horse tack/accessories (if you already do this, disregard - it's probably been a year since I played last). And finally, a calendar or list with all the dates and times for the event every month (I wish they'd do this with capture events, raids, etc.) Sure, it could be at the same time, on the same day of every week, but if it's not written down and in front of my face somewhere, there's a good probability it'll slip my mind. This would also be great for new players to have as a resource when they touch down into HEE. I believe a clickable in-game calendar would be monumentally helpful for not just trivia, but all events. It also helps those with busy schedules plan in advance. I'm only on for about 30 mins at a time here and there - I don't want to scroll all the way back through the news page, I don't want to go to the forums, I don't want to ask chat. If I can't find easily visible and accessible times and dates for an event on my own, you probably won't find me there. P.S. A rolling marquee banner at the top of the main page with all upcoming events or an optional in-game-mail monthly event newsletter could also be a possible solution instead of a calendar. |

We have 630k ebs that is broke down and split between the 3 topics, but 90% of the time we have LOTS of bonus prizes we give away that are generously donated by members, lots of time its nice horses or straws or broods or items :) I do like the calander idea though perhaps we can make one up to send out in the trivia club game mail once a month |
