I'd definitely use tack again if this was an option.

I love this idea, but it seems like a button that would just as easily be added to the groom's page. Though I do love the NPCs, they add some character to the game, so a new one would not be unwanted!

I might use it if the price were lower. 5k for an npc to simply clean tack just isn't worth it imo. It's way too pricey when you consider the fact that the accountant is only 1k monthly (if I remember correctly) & is a million times more useful. He keeps track of all expenses so you know where your money is going without doing the math. The barn manager is only 3K and handles all of your shows, saving a bunch of time deciding which shows to do. On top of this, a lot of stables have hundreds of horses, making entering shows manually very time consuming.
I feel like cleaning tack isn't something that takes a lot of time, unless you have a ton of tack, it's one button per piece of tack. Cleaning supplies for tack are only a few hundred ebs a piece, so I also don't think those expenses add up to 5k+ ebs a month. I've been playing for a year and have only bought cleaning supplies once or twice. I think it's a really cool idea, but I feel like 5k ebs a month is a bit pricey for it. I'd use it if it were 1-3k per month!

I have accrued a ton of tack, for me the 5k is OK.

I'd maybe be tempted to get into tack if I didn't have to clean it, but equally it seems a bit much to pay more than BM and accountant combined purely for something aesthetic

I don't use tack much, but would still happily do this! I would be inclined to use it more too, as the main reason I don't is because it needs to be cleaned. I do however agree that 5k is a bit much :3 Edited at January 13, 2026 05:22 PM by Golden Rose

Absolutely! I finally decided to tack up just a handful of my horses and I've decided not to do more purely because of how tedious the cleaning is. The fact that it can just break too if it doesn't get done.. I feel like it makes tacking up feel not so worth it. The amount of items I need to use just to keep up on a few fully tacked up horses is wild... This would at least make things a bit easier

What tack is being cleaned? Is it only tack that needs it (under 25 days)? Or would it bring every piece of tack to 100% (100-1000 days) When is the tack cleaned? Every day or every week? At the begining of the month or at the end? For me, this would be a rarely used program. I would hire for the initial month to have all the tack cleaned. But then it would be rarely needed maybe once every 100 days if the tack is consistently used. Otherwise it's even less than that. The proposed salary is too high to be used frequently and seemingly not comparable to the other hireable NPCs. It would take less than 5,000 ebs to clean all my tack to 100% and that could be easily achieved in a month and not much money to keep the tack cleaned every month from then on. I would see the groom as responsible for tack and the stable hand responsible for feeding and turnout. So potentially you could hire a Stable Hand to feed every week for the month. Or even a system where horses are moved from pasture to pasture for better grazing (as long as the pastures are available - maybe assigned).
