This week we pose a genetic question to you! The mushroom gene is found in shetland ponies and minature horses. We don't have those on the game, but we do have Sport Ponies. Since Sport Pony isn't an actual breed, it could have genetics from any pony.

If it wouldn't become something that overtakes and takes away from the option of those already beautiful colors and patterns.

As a PON color breeder, 100% support! My question though is how would this look in terms of being distinct to sport ponies since they can quite easily have SH foals?

I don't breed PON so this doesn't really impact me but would be cool anyways :)

SH would have it as well. But you could only capture PONs with it.

I breed SH, my issue is that I breed with PON that have the color genes I need frequently, which means that the gene would wind up in SH when it shouldnt, and I think potentially a few of the other breeds would wind up slowly getting mushroom in their population as well.

I guess I don't see how it's a problem. SH would only have by inheriting it from a PON.

I LOVE ideas like this! Having more breed specific genes in general is so cool. I don't even breed PON and I love this lol Maybe I'll start if this happens.
