I am curious how many people genetic test their horses. I thought about doing some of mine that are higher rated.

I am curious about your thought processes on genetic testing.

I test all my higher rated KNN because of the genetic standards of the breed :}

Recently started an apricot project, so gene test all chestnuts, looking for Prlprl mares, to breed with an apricot stallion. Otherwise, no need to gene test the frames.

I gene test all my KNNs.

I do high-rated and possible breed-for-color prospects.

I am attempting to breed for apricot, ee prprl, so I test a lot of my mares to check what they are.

I also love the results of the quests and will test for homozygous sets of genes, then pop the mares up for brood.

I test all stallions for my benefit and for my customers.

So really I am a bit of a fanatic !

It is expensive, a luxury.

I gene test all my PPP+ color babies & my AA's, but not my geldings.

I genetic test the colorful and higher rated ones because they're more likely to have better genetics

I test all my WWWs for funsies, and then I have a little backburner apricot breeding project where I'll sometimes test! I wish it wasn't so expensive, otherwise I'd test all my colour stock.

I test all my Tobi and frame horses (Mares especially) to see if they're ToTo or OO or even silvers like ZZ
