| The worst part about it for me is that most of the people moving to these rural areas are retirees so they do not work or contribute to the economy of the area much at all. They just want to "enjoy the benefits of a rural lifestyle" like all the real estate listings say now. |

| I live in a rural area where many affluent Californians are moving in after selling off their high-dollar CA properties. They buy up every decent place around so that no middle-class families have a place to go. The wealthy transplants then need services and amenities, but no one can afford to live here to provide those services. It's really going well... |

| Raven; I will comment that CA has some of the best healthcare and support networks in the USA, but also higher taxation to support that. The state reliably goes to the Democratic candidates in most places. |
