| 3 weeks is a decent time, its within their normal lifespan. the only monarchs that live longer are the super generation to make the trip back to mexico. ive also taken care of some disabled insects and you do what you can <3 anything you do is longer than they would have had in the wild |

| The last generation (these were born in late summer so classified that) live for 8 - 9 months |

| @Snow- well actually I think they hatched on the 6th or 7th but Monarchs live more than 3 wks because they migrate to warmer in winter and come back in spring |

| @anna I thought most butterflies didn't live that long? And I'm sure they had a nice safe life with you. :) |

| Two monarch butterflies died today. They were both handicapped the one wouldn't fly and the other had a deformed wing. I kept them for 3 weeks |
