Can't believe RO is coming up
Echo Creek
Fea I'm in love with them, super happy with this reroll as well, golden Bay! -HEE Click-
El Cuco
I appreciate the responses. I raised the little shit, love him to death, and hate to see people getting scared to go around him or to think he's missing something, so I've been scanning my options for sure.
Lucky Ranch
theres a specific type of magnesium they need if youre going to give it as a supplement they cant properly absorb it otherwise, i wrote down the name somewhere let me find it
El Cuco
It's not his usual snippiness though. Sure, he's pushy, but he's always been a sweetheart too. It slowly came on recently to the point that we had to separate our mini for safety reasons. I just have a feeling something is off with him, but he has a very anti-ulcer lifestyle so I'm leaning towards a nutritional imbalance of some sort.
Lucky Ranch
yeah ive known a few horses that needed magnesium supplements and without them had really different and unpredictable personalities also alfalfa is really good for their stomachs and can soothe ulcers and stuff, so id also recommend checking for ulcers
Asteria
El I used too, he is passed now but this is what i have learned. Most likely, It's Essential for regulating nerve and muscle function, a deficiency leads to increased stress levels, as magnesium is required to dampen adrenaline responses !
The Old Gods
Might just like the alfalfa. My mare will get snippy if she doesn't get her scoop of sweet feed with dinner lol
El Cuco
Anyone have a horse that gets moody for nutritional reasons? One of my boys has had increasing attitude problems, but I've noticed that he's been mellowing back out since he started eating alfalfa regularly. Obviously going to get a vet's opinion, but I'm wondering if he's magnesium deficient or something of the like. Just looking for anecdotes I suppose.
