Funny to think a little paper signed before I was even old enough to have a coherent thought has decided almost everything in my life. I have to be this name, this gender. This name will put me seated by these people and make only this personality/interests acceptable. This gender will let random old people decide that I can do these things but not those, I'm allowed here but not there. This name means I have to be this way or that way because those carrying it before me were like that. This gender means I can only love that gender. And much more.

And yet, despite how important everyone makes labels seem, you're never given a choice as to what you'll make those. If I want to choose my own name, or I want to ignore the identity someone gave me because I've got some parts and choose my own, then I'm "disrespecting my parents" "turning from God's will" "being sensitive".

You never get a say in who you are. It's everyone else's toy to play with.
