So I JUST his 5'2" so I am generally short for my age (15 here before the age ban!) I weigh just at 100 lbs and just hit that mark also. I've always been short and tiny and I am just now looking for a new horse. I've been attacked for being small, people have called me anorexic and all kinds of shit. I just recently outgrew my pony so I was riding him and people attacked me for riding a mini at 14.... I was smaller than most 12 year olds it didn't hurt the horse.

I've been attacked because I hate riding alone. The last time I went alone, we passed a stud in a field and she took off. Someone interrupted my conversation with my mother to tell me I shouldn't be riding because I can't control my own horse. You expect me to control a 1200+ pound animal at a dead run? How about you get up there and try it.

IÂ’ve been attacked for using a crop with my horses, I ride Saddlebred and Friesians and Gypsys, while Friesians and Gypsys are more friendly breeds, my Saddlebred is not. IÂ’ve been told that using a whip on her in unhumane, like darling no, I have to for mine and hers safety. And people tell me itÂ’s bad to get mad at my horse for rearing, other people get off when their horse rears, I donÂ’t, I stay on and make them listen. Passive aggressiveness gets the job done, passive does not.

i use a cart nowadays due to being in a wheelchair most of the time but i get told my cart is inhuman for them

Oh gosh yes we get that too! But what people donÂ’t realize is different breeds are more fit for cart pulling. For example, we have a gypsy/Haflinger mare and she doesnÂ’t like being ridden by little kids but tolerates it if the person riding is no more than say 150 pounds, she loves the cart though and took to it well, she listened much better and enjoyed it a bit.

oh yea i totally understand thats what i mean. my belgian doesnt like being rode so we use that cart on him along with my haflinger gelding cuz he doesnt care

ItÂ’s so irritating when people criticize equestrians for what we do, like darling no, we do some of the things we do because itÂ’s safer, using a crop on my horses is safer because I ride these 16hh+ Friesians and theyÂ’re good horses but because they are so big you have to have something for almost extra protection, as long as my horses know itÂ’s there and that IÂ’ll use it, they listen. My Saddlebred Mare is mean and doesnÂ’t listen and crops barely work with her, I have to use everything I have to keep her under control. Carts arenÂ’t inhumane or abusive and people think they are? Honey no, they enjoy it, nobody puts their horse through anything they donÂ’t wanna go through unless t has to be done that will give better outcomes in the future and such.

Oooh I have some related to reading or knowing about horses, talking about them. My friend gets so mad when I talk about the horses I ride but that’s because it makes me happy, like talking about them makes me happy.
