I show even my EEE, WEE and WWE boys gelded, in SD. I also dont show my AD breeding stock though and I know alot of people do

I've noticed the same too Willow, yeah--I still have them training AD but just primarily put them in their best discipline. SD is certainly easier to maximize though as Athena mentioned

although I suppose there's no harm really since they're not breeding stock, unless you want to compete eventing/AD

I personally prefer SD over AD. It is simpler for me personally and therefore makes me the most income as I understand it better

Update 10
I worked Echo and spike today, i only worked Echo for a little bit. I lunged her for a little bit and noticed when she trotted her left leg was a little off. I had my trainer look at it and she said she's not lame but she might have hurt it in her stall or something and to keep an eye on it. She did not seem like she was in pain so I just walked her around and gave her a long good grooming. I hope her leg gets better soon and I'll post an update on her leg next time I go out to the barn which will probably be Saturday.

Update 11
I was finally able to work Echo it has been so cold recently. I did something a little different with her and tried liberty work. After I lunged her we stayed in the round pen and I did some work with her on walking stopping and following me around. She did ok for her first time ever doing it after we were done with that I set up a few ground poles and a raised ground pole. I wanted to work on getting her to pick her feet up and after a few tries she trotted over them beautifully. I can't wait to see how she will do riding wise but I am so proud of how brave and content she is.

Update 12
Sunday I went out to the barn and I was going t ride Spike and work Echo. So I went over to her stall and usually she with come over and give me a kiss but she was eating so I though ok shes fine. Then I took her out of her stall and went to walk her up to the cross ties and she did not really want walk but I figured it was because she hasn't been worked in a few days and was outside all day. Before I put her in the cross ties I noticed a huge gash on her chest and I immediately took her blanket off and then noticed a huge mass on her chest. I had someone go get my trainer and her dad who is also a trainer to come look at it. They did not seem that worried which made me feel better and we did not need to call the vet. My trainer said she got kicked when she was in the pasture and she said that a few others have been worse than what Echo's looked like. As worried as I was about her I spent all the day at the barn to be with her and I could tell she was feeling a little better in the round pen she rolled and even jogged a little bit. The moving around is going to help the swelling and I have been putting fura zone on it which helps too and I have been rinising it with cool water. Hopefully she gets better soon I hate seeing her sick or hurt.
Here is the mass and a little bit of the cut if anyone wants to see

Yeah I cried a little but I knew if I stayed calm she would stay calm too and once we gave her some Bute she was starting to feel better. I also tried not to worry to much because she was still eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom so those are all good signs. I am going out again today so I will probably post another update later tonight or tomorrow. Everyone at the barn said it looks worse than what it actually is but it still looks so big.

Update 13
So I have good news! Echo's cut is starting to scab up and the swelling went down so much. I still have been doing light work with her to get her moving but we should be able to resume training soon.

Update 14
So a funny thing happened today. Echo was in the round pen and I drew lunged her for a little and did some liberty work and she did really good. Once I was done my friend who also has a baby but her horse is 1 year younger than echo come over and wanted to se e how our horses got along. So we let them play together and then her horse was running and jumped the gate and the gate opened and echo and Finley (my friends horse) got out and ran to a near by pasture. Echo let me catch her but we had to run after the horses. On a good note echo had her first bath today and she did really good I'm so happy with how brave and well behaved she is for her age I can't wait to see how far we can go!

Update 15
The other day I went out ot the barn to work Echo and she was amazing! I did some liberty work after we did some regular training and she was doing really good. Since I was in the round pen I later decided to take the lead off and she responded so well for her first time doing liberty work off the lead and her 3rd time doing liberty work in general. This filly keeps amazing me and I am so happy of the bond we already have made in the couple months I have owned her and I can't wait to watch it continue to grow.
Here is a link if you want to watch a little video of our liberty work.

Update 16 (please do not hate)
Yesterday I went out to my barn the only thing that wasn't closed and me and my trainer came to the decision to try and put some tack on Echo to see her reaction. Echo is almost 2 her brithday is April 2 and we have had many yearlings from her bloodlines so we know how they work and how their bodies work. Echo reacted very well and I will start to incorporate a little more training with the tack. I'm not going to get on her any time soon but we jsut wanted to see how she would react. She is a very good minded horse and I will post more updates on where are training is. Going forward I'm not promising any new updates because I have but my training with her on pause I will still be working her and spending time with her but I will not be teaching her anything new or anything that would take extra time. I am trying to limit my time around others with everything going on. I hope all of you stay safe and healthy!
