Its interesting how much braver you get when you're feeling lazy. Im about to go for a hack on bike night in just a headcollar purely because I can't be arsed to swap my bit back over on her bridle 🙈🤣

Worth a shot :) The part I had/have a hard time with is the training fees on top of the purchase fee. I think breeding them could make the difference. If you do the math, it could cost anywhere between 10k on the "extreme dumb end" of only earning 1 training point/4% on a stat per session, to 3,400 on the "extremely smart" end where they get 3 points/12% each session.

I'd say if you can breed them possibly. If you're buying them though and want to cover costs, I haven't had overwhelming luck. I'd say probably keep them a stud though, and/or do mares

The state live in never gets below 20°. At least, not until this week. My animals hate it. I hate it. My old truck even runs worse when it's cold. This weather has really sucked because it's keeping me from driving 200 miles each way to get a horse.

I can't get a photo for some reason-
But I usually ride Barrel comps (yes I compete) with this:
- Dark brown saddle and bridles
- Bridles has red brow band with gold liner
- Saddle pad is red with gold liner
- Red polo wraps and ear bonnet with gold liner
- Black bell boots
- The halter is dark brown (nothing fancy)
- Red fly mask with gold lining
I must say, my horse is usually the most decorated at teh comps xD
And when I'm doing other fun stuff (I don't like my comp stuff for anything but comps):
- Standard white saddle pad
- Brown saddle and bridle
- Black leg protectors
- Black tail protector
Sooo... yeah. I prefer to not use competition stuff when I'm not at a competition- reduces wear and tear, and keeps it cleaner (at least until I start riding).

I've had my saddle for like 6 or 7 years. It used to be the same vibrant shade as the rest of this set, but I've used it a lot and it's color has faded. I've had the pad for almost as long though, and it's still bright. I have my turquirse zebra saddle, pad, headstall, and breast collar. I also have a turquoise bronc halter, but it lives in the house because I don't use it when I'm not hauling things to playdays. I want a set of sport boots to match, but haven't gotten around to ordering them. My horse's eyes kind of match though.

he's pretty! so is his tack

I don’t have a recent picture of my tack setup, but I currently ride a gorgeous SRS barrel, impact gel barrel pad, one ear headstall with Andrea equine brown/turquoise zigzag mecate reins, and a smooth single joint sweet iron snaffle.
I am in the market for a new bit. Hoping to get myself a double jointed smooth sweet iron snaffle.
I also want to try out my split reins and see if I like them better than my mecate.

Saddle: HDR Equipe Close Contact jumping saddle
Bridle: Micklem Combination Bridle
Bit: 3-ring elevated happy mouth
Boots: LeMieux closed front jumping boots
Saddle Pads: Anything from Eskadron to LeMieux and PS of Sweden

I have other bridles and saddles but those are what I use daily. Most everything is a hand me down or something I bought myself :)
Edit: the stirrups are Tech Stirrups in Rose Gold (they're amazing, highly recommend for my jumpers and Eventers out there)

I just think here is a great place to brag about the fact that I have 17 saddle pads and always use the same disgusting white one that now has blood on it and doesn't really fit my saddle.

I don't have pictures but depending on which horse I ride I use something else.
le pony:
single jointed D-ring snaffle
edgewood fancy stitched bridle, reins, martingale
17 Antares saddle (it's too big on him 😭)
simple white shape pad
woof wear front tendon boots
whichever of my clean girths I can find from 42 to 46
and in summer either my black horse wear fly bonnet or white one
le horsie:
loose ring gag (not sure what exactly to call it)
cwd bridle + drop noseband, reins, (3-point) breastplate
same saddle
some close contact square pad + shire's half pad
front + back LeMieux kick boots
professionals choice synthetic girth size 52ish
in summer I take whichever of my fly bonnets matches the square pad
