You can use your hands to warm the bit. And that is free.

They do have a point.

Yeah, I agree that that’s probably the best idea. I’d just warm it with you hands.

That's what I do but it gets about 5 degrees here and it's terrible to take your gloves off and hold metal. I have stated to just out it in my pocket under my coat when I go outside and that works, but I was thinking for 15 bucks it might be helpful

Well you could also bring the bit into your house, like 15 min before you ride and bring it out in your coat and thatÂ’s pretty easy, free and simple. :)

So. I have this pony that I Lease out, and he wears a standing martingale, but it really does not get his head down nearly enough. If you take the martingale off, his head skyrockets even more, and then gallops around the place nearly out of control, and it is even worse at shows. Thoughts?

Red - maybe shorten up the martingale, try different kinds of martingales, drawreins might help, IÂ’m not sure though.

Draw reins for sure if a shortened martingale doesn't work

Or see if the horse needs their teeth floated. Check to see of the bit pinches. How does the bit break in the mouth? Is the back sore? Does the saddle pinch? What kind of bit is used?

I mean, all you're suggesting is cranking the horses head down... but ok. This is only a public forum.
