I've been looking but my only decent one I've found was a yearling for 5k in Oregon but I live in Wisconsin and would have to pay transport. Problem is I'm very into western trail, western pleasure, and ranch riding or rail. I want something papered and the market sucks. Either spend 10k on training overtime for the young ones, 10-15k for started one's or 20-50k for finished horses it's insanity

(little insight... I'm not small, standing at 5'6 and weighing 150 lbs)

* my instructor tells me to do a turn on the forehand on a very stubborn horse *

-10 minutes later-

* my leg is literally falling off I think I am going to die I've been kicking for hours *

* my instructor * "WHAT ARE YOU, A 3'2 BABY WITH PUDGY CHEEKS AND FLOPPY ARMS?! KICK HARDER!"

"HARDERRRRRR"

"YOU LOOK LIKE A DODO BIRD. YOU'RE LEGS ARE FLAPPING AROUND LIKE THEY CAN FLY. YOU DO KNOW IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO FLY YOU FLAP WITH YOUR ARMS, RIGHT?"

-ten minutes later... I still haven't got the horse to move and quite literally am passing out-

* instructor gets whip and smacks horse so hard it flies across the arena, almost leaving me in the dust *

* instructor * "SEE? I got him to move!"

Dusty, that's... not okay. Your trainer should be training, not insulting you like that.

That's also not ethical to the horse, kicking so much and hitting them, the horse must not understand the cues or something must be off, that is a training red flag

"Okay not going to lie,im just kidding. That last jump looked disgusting."
"USE YOUR LEFT REIN TO PULL HER OVER.LEG.RAIGEN!LEFT LEG AND RIGHT REIN IM NOT GOI- See?Lovely."
"That was really hard to you?Seems like it.Took you eight minutes to do it."
(Im sweating like a dog, trying to catch my breath after posting on a really bouncy horse) "Go do it again." (NOOO)
(This is whenever I rode a gelding[see below])
"His tounge is like a snake. He just hangs it out like, 'I don't care and never will"
horse trips over air
"oh no.....the invisible turd is back!so fun,vet bills will be coming in like crazy."
*I fall off at the first barrel after not sitting deep enough*
*trainer walks over and helps me up*
"Well, good job.You showed me not even the fourth years can sit and turn."

So even though I train horses I still have my own trainers to help me and I swear they say the dumbest stuff sometimes
*my horse not wanting to go through the water*
My trainer: "OH COME ON STWAOP TWEATING HWIMS WIKE A WITTLE BAWAYBY" (fifteen minutes later he still wouldn't step into the water)
*me doing a one stride grid*
Trainer "Okay what was that did you really think he was going to refuse"
Me:"yes? He refused ut last go around "
Trainer:"WRONG ANSWER "
I also train western so
My dad:"he looks like a Simi truck at a four way "
My dad:"get your stop Get.Your.Stop GET YOUR MOTHERFUCKING STOOOOOP"
my dad"I will fight you make him turn on his hind"
My mom "COLLECT HIIIM AROUND THE CORNER BEFORE I DO"
Mom:"dee sweet baaby boiii cHiLd UsE yOuR cOrE"

my teacher/trainer is really big on not kicking hard, but nudging lightly with heels, so sometimes she says this-
"your horse is not a rocket, so don't take off like that!"
and she often uses annalogies about steering, like this-
"Imagine that you are holding a tray of stacked OREOs. You don't want them to fall, so don't tilt the tray" tilts hands and makes a pretend crashing sound
and another time we were on a trail ride and saw a frog-
"Oh! look at the frog. Now pay attention to where we are going" and that time one person did not, and got hit in the head with a tree
"This is why we look up. The horses don't have untied sholaces."

She literally said this every lesson, lol:
"PUNCTURE HIS LUNGS!! In a nice, loving way."
-
Similarly;
"RIP HER LIPS OFF! In a nice, loving way."
