Hi, I am looking at getting a new bat for eventing. I might have broken my current one. The brands I am looking at are 4* Eventing Gear, and Fleck Germany. Let me know which brand you think is best for crops/bats (It does not have to be one of the two brands I mentioned). Here is the style of bats/crops I am looking at
horse racing crop02002CF Nylon weave, SOFT wrapped grip with cushion flap

I don't think one is superior to the other. A crop is a crop lol. As long as it's not to long or short

I like to use ones with a strap when I'm doing cross country so I don't have to worry as much about dropping it

I love fleck but to be honest there are some cheaper brands that are equally as good when it comes to a crop
Fleck do make the best dressage whip

Lol. The one I broke had a strap on it. I normally just held it with the rest of the handle. Every now and then I would slide my thumb into it. I do agree that it would keep you from dropping it. But being honest. I think the strap felt like it was unnecessary for myself.
