I show even my EEE, WEE and WWE boys gelded, in SD. I also dont show my AD breeding stock though and I know alot of people do
Gaelic Gladiacres
02:44:29 Gladius
I've noticed the same too Willow, yeah--I still have them training AD but just primarily put them in their best discipline. SD is certainly easier to maximize though as Athena mentioned
Gaelic Gladiacres
02:43:44 Gladius
although I suppose there's no harm really since they're not breeding stock, unless you want to compete eventing/AD
RiverView Ponies
02:43:31 Willow/Lil
A lot of them are EEE, but I noticed some do better in a certain discipline, even while in AD
Sunset River Arabian
02:43:24 Athena - AA/TB
I personally prefer SD over AD. It is simpler for me personally and therefore makes me the most income as I understand it better
Gaelic Gladiacres
02:42:13 Gladius
depends on their ratings willow

would it be more beneficial to SD all my geldings?

Teaching my Horses Liberty

A few years ago, I taught my horses liberty. I'm self taught and so I struggled. It was enough to keep me entertained though. Recently, I found a youtube channel that I really like. I've decided to restart my horses with liberty. I watched a bunch of videos and started. This was a week ago. I've decided to use this to record my progress and let you guys follow along.

Day 1

I started with my older arab, he did super well and immediately stepped on to the mark along the fence. I asked a few more times before switching directions, repeating the previous steps, I rewarded him and put him away.

I switched to my much younger AQHA gelding. He struggled in the beginning, trying to step over it like a large ground pole. After a few tried he got it. He was still struggling, but was getting better and better.

This is awesome! I had a clinic with Sam Vanfleet and Camille McCutcheon (Camilles Mustangs) and learned a lot about liberty and I've begun teaching both of my Mustangs!
