I think it would be worth it, and you would probably still get some time off (hopefully)

Only one of the courses I have left is going to be available over the summer. I really want to take a break but also it will be online so not a huge deal

Luckily, it's just one really hot day, then it'll go back to being in the 60s. So it's not like an extended amount of heat

I was wrong I have 5 classes and a lab left not 2 lol.

I can't decide, should I take one class over the summer so I only have 5 courses in the fall or just do all 6 in the fall?

We made a makeshift one out of a Styrofoam cooler, ice and a little fan for a horse show in mid August, did pretty decent. Probably not great for large spaces though lol

I am going to my first fair in a couple of months and I was wondering what I should wear to the classes: Mini Hunter, Mini Halter, Mini Showmanship, Normal Showmanship, speed and a Mini and normal color class. Any help would be appreciated, links would be awesome.

I’d get tall boot like these for any English riding especially for the Hunter show ring and Ariat are my fav boots since the feel great molded to my feet well and quick, Tredsteps are very nice looking and I believe they feel very nice and if you want to pay top dollar you can buy Parlentis. Middle rugs are nice too as I’ve owned a pair or two. I’ve put links to the best ones of those four brands. Yes i know tall boots are very expensive but they are required for English riders twelve and up.

For show shirts I like ariat and kerrits as I own some of both and they are very breathable and comfortable. For show jackets I like AA and RJ Classics. Just for a little extra show jacket info you can get a shadbelly as those are very nice I’d definitely get more than one and a long sleeve and a short sleeve just in case. I’ll link to the ones I own/really like. Shirts must be white and jackets should be navy or black.https://www.doversaddlery.com/ariat-aptos-show-top/p/X1-200158/

For the breeches The Tailored Sportsman are super great. I’ll link two of the nicest/best/most comfortable/judges love ones for ya.

For they other stuff(helmets, gloves, spurs, crops) for spur they just need to have black straps if you use those. Crops must be all black. I’ll link the helmets and gloves. Gloves must be black. Helmets are they thing to never ever cut cost on. Charles Owens are my fav are the feel great, look very nice and mold to you head. Helmet I have: https://www.doversaddlery.com/charles-owen-ayr8-helmet-15/p/X1-36526/
Gloves I have:
https://www.doversaddlery.com/ssg-soft-touch-riding-gloves/p/X1-39012/
And finally for well tack I just hope you clean your tack weekly and before shows, have nice stuff that matches(or is close) looks relatively new(doesn’t need to be should look like it) if you tack suggestions just tell me I’ve got loads of recommendations. Very happy to help, have a great day and hope you do well at the show. Are you going to the MN state fair cause I’m going and my pony Ronnie/Bordertown is showing with my friend! :)

I donÂ’t have links, but if you have a Wilco near you, they usually have black q baby jeans. They are the best. And the judges would prefer if you had black jeans while doing western classes. Boots donÂ’t matter, as your jeans cover most of them. And any type of helmet/black hat is fine. I just use a blue or purple shoe shirt from Wilco or one so I had gotten from clubs. But the shirts donÂ’t really matter. IÂ’ve seen people just wear flannels

What do you mean by show shirt and do you know if the judges prefer skinny or boot cut jeans.

I've done a little bit of showmanship at the county level. I do big horses, and 1 pony, but same attire. If you look up a video on YouTube of one of the latest 'world' champions from the AQHA world show in showmanship, you'll find a great example. They want boot cut jeans, a nice looking hat, and a shirt that fits well, sparkles, and looks comfortable. It all needs to match. I haven't shown enough to know certain brands, but Wrangler jeans are pretty comfortable and durable. You can also go to places like Ross, Old Navy, and Wal-Mart to find jeans on a budget. I've gotten white jeans for showing dairy cattle at old navy on clearance for as low as $2! White is not popular around here. I'm planning on buying my first really nice looking shirt on Ebay. I know what material I want and how I want it to look and have found a bunch of great options. Just search Women's Western Showmanship Shirt and you should find something to at least help you get an idea of the style you want. As for boots, the 2 pairs I have owned that were off brand were great. The Ariats I got were crap. Only owned 3 pairs, so off brand has been my best, but I need size 11 boots, so it's hard to find something that fits in a popular brand that isn't ugly and isn't crazy expensive.
