I say bed too. Ran off into a ditch to avoid a girl telling us the exit at the show we were at. Glad my truck is so tall, otherwise would have done serious damage with the foot tall drop off other than a sore neck and scratch on the frame

I’d love a sushi train date myself but everyone’s different, my boyfriend doesn’t like the idea of sushi either much as I want him to do with me and tell him he can get curry he’s just not into it lol no harm suggesting something else.

Also if this guy thinks poorly of you for supposed pickiness, thats on him not you

Yes, it's not a universal favorite. Many people are opposed to it.

Sushi isn't your thing. No Biggie :)

I wouldn't like to go to a Sushi place for a date either. Maybe a raincheck?

So I have my first show this weekend. What's the best way to do a bun/ how to do your hair?
I have thick hair that is sorta long.

I have pretty long thick hair as well. What I do is tie my hair in a low ponytail, then put it in a bun using quite a few hairpins. Then once I know its secure I put the hair net over the bun and tie the hairnet in place with an elastic band.

Another option but one I stopped doing because my hair is layered is putting your hair in a french plait and then tucking the end up back under and securing with an elastic.

An extra tip is find out what gel dancers use and if you can get some. We get a gel here in South Africa that I used for ballet when I was younger that is awesome as it holds your hair in place really well and is not sticky or greasy. It's actually also my go to for plaiting my horse's mane as well

My sister dances so I'll see what she has.
I struggle to get a bun to sit comfortably below my helmet.

Put my hair in a low bun/pony tail and then covered it in this.

Depends what you're doing. Western it's okay to put your hair in a bun, jumpers you can have your hair up in a helmet or in a ponytail or a bun, but hunters it should really be up in your helmet.
Be careful if you put it up in a helmet though because this can change the fit of your helmet and render the helmet obsolete should you fall. Make sure the fit is right. Then again, depending on the level of the show you're at, a bun should be fine for the hunters. Ask your trainer.
Enjoy and good luck!! Competing is always exciting.

I used to just chuck it in a braid. It's simple, neat, and it stays all day.

Army Soldier & Equestrian - My hair is in a bun every single day. I usually wet my hair, either from a shower or wet the roots in the sink. Put your hair in a ponytail that will clear your helmet, so it will need to be lower on your head, but not too low where if you look up it hits your next. I use a "sock bun" or a false bun that's shaped like a donut, and put that over the ponytail, but if you have thick hair, just braid it, and wrap it around to form the bun. Then, I use lots and lots of gel and/or hairspray.

I'd also definitely get the bun cover Jericho suggested!

If you want to put your hair up on your helmet (which is what I do for hunter/jumpers, as it's the norm there) and have thick/long hair, use 2 hairnets!! Put one over normally, and tie your hair in a ponytail grabbing some of the hairnet. Then finesse all of your hair on top of your head, and put the other hairnet on over it, so your hair is captured inside of it lol. That way when you put your helmet on, no hairs are astray, and there's no hassle! It always looks neat, tidy, and professional. I have looong hair (down to my waist-ish) and have been doing this for years, just like many other long haired riders I know. It's foolproof! Best of luck with your hair and your show!
