Yeah, I believe it might be because the foal was white unfortunately. It shouldn't affect it, but I think it does. Again, don't quote me lol

I do believe that Splash may have to be in the color name. Don't quote me, but I think I ran into that recently.

well, can you link to the stud? If it didn't complete, then he's likely not homozygous

It wasn't for homo spl, it was just 'breed a splash white foal.' Maybe there was a game bug.

white won't matter. Chances are, the quest requires a specific rating or it needs the foal to be homozygous splash

Ahh that must have been it.

Also FRed, lol. She was white though. Does that have some sort of negating factor on Spl?

We got freezing rain last night. So chores this morning was not very fun at all. I fell twice, on time into a puddle

But ponies are check, cows fed, and some tack moved out of the calving barn into the new tack room

So, there is a horse right across the road from the farm that my family owns.

The pro's:

He is super close to us. (2 seconds away from our farm)

He's only $500.

He is a Gelding

The Con's

Something is wrong with his foot

We have no where to put him, at the new house unless we keep him at the place he is 2 seconds away from.

So we have no idea what is up with his foot. it could be anything from something stuck in it to lame-ness. Then, I have to convince my parents, that is if he is not hurt that we can keep him at the new place.

But before I get my hopes up, what could possibly make him want to favor his foot?

Ruby, he may have sprained, torn a tendon, his hoof may be ingrown, he may have arthritis. Best bet is to get a vet to look at it before you buy him, and also to ask for a chance to ride him, if and when his hoof is better

I believe he might be lame. Is there any swelling ? Any cuts or old wounds ? Any small knots ?

OK. I mean he will literly cost me nothing as, I already have tack, feed, and a water trough, brushes, and we own an alfalfa farm so feed will cost me nothing but working around the house and stuff.

Im just scared that if I get my hopes up it will end up being a no.

He looks as in good heath, his coat is shinny, but I have not seen him walk.

It is possible that he is just resting they will sometimes do that even when they're not lame. So maybe ask the owners if he DOES have something wrong with his hoof.

To be honest don’t buy it if you think it serious and let the vet check him and the farrier
