December 15 2018
Rr Red Rocket (Hobby) Came in the dead of the night. My sister and I prepared a pen for the night.
Steam rolled off of him as he got out of the trailer after the 4hr ride across the state. We got him bedded down in the holding pen.
The seller and my sister traded a few words and they were gone. I left to start his feed for the morning.
Dec. 16 2018
I go out to find his hind leg all swollen up. I went in to the barn and called my sister to tell her that his leg was swollen. I turned him out in the paddock with the other horses. He found food and settled on it.
Dec. 24 1018
My sister and I took him out on his first ride off the track. It was a short 45 minute ride. I took one of the elder geldings that I was able to relax on. Also if hobby tried to do anything funny I would be able to grab him.
January 1 2019
We went out on or first ride of 2019.
February 15-16 2019
I started to ride him. On the 15th I used a snaffle bit. We had a problem with him tossing his head. We had a great 30 minute ride.
On the 16th I rode him bitless. He did great, we could stop turn everything. I took him out on a trail and he spooked. He ran home.
I was not able to control him when he spooked. Before we hit the barn I got him stopped and settled down.
