Oh it's horrendous, luckily I fully peeled him back in October but his saddle patch is about 6 inches thick at the moment lol. He's out naked today so hopefully he can roll it all off and save me a job later
Minerva

How much is he moulting at the minute? Minnie's seemingly never ending lol, she looks an absolute state.

Genuinely, the poor sod's girth is like a corset, and I've had to lose the half pad to allow for the winter padding 🤣 Still debating whether I do a last minute cover coat clip before it gets any nicer weatherwise?!
Minerva

Ted's off the hook until I can figure out whats up with his withers, which means poor Fudge gets to do the baby training instead for a few weeks 🤣🤣

🤣🤣🤣 Nothing like the frantic realisation that you should have started back up in January

The mud has just been awful, this has been my first proper winter at my current yard and it's just SO soggy 🫠

Same here, I booked a fun ride last month and now I've realised we need to get our collective arses in gear and lose the winter weight for it 🤣 Haven't even pointed it at a jump since, last year? If not longer?
Gaelic Gladiacres

We started two of our young stock right before we got all the nasty weather, too... with four more on the back burner that were going to get started right after the first two -grimace-

Lol same with me and Minnie!! Mud's dried up and Ive got a pleasure ride booked in so she needs to get fit 🤣 Maybe they can start a support group for other "thought theyd retired" ponies 🤣🤣

Ahh amazing! Typical man, thinking with his (non-existent) balls 🤣 I've finally found the will to live again because I've seen the sun for the first time in 6 months, so I'm *actually* riding Woody again, he's horrified

Ugh, why is flirting with the accountant a level three quest when the ingredients are 3-5x the reward...

Had a bit of a breakthrough with her actually at the weekend! She's got a scratchy spot under her mane she's letting me go at now, and Im allowed to walk behind her as long as I don't try to touch. I caught her last night and sat on the floor with her doing neck scratches and treats which I think she didn't find too horrifying. Ted's in the headcollar of shame though- he's also getting some rigcalm for a while I think as he's dicking abiut like he still has balls 🙈 He and Minnie have the back lady coming to see them in a couple of weeks as I think his withers are a bit sore bless him

HEELS HEELS HEELS !
Get used to having your heels down. I ride too much with out stirrups so itÂ’s easy for me to remember. I think riding a lot without stirrups would be great.

Good on you for looking for critique! A fresh eye is always good!

From what I can see, you have a good canter seat with following hips and a still lower leg. You don’t try to lift the horse over the fence or jump the fence yourself, if you get what I mean. That’s all good!

In my opinion, you’d see much improvement in your heel flexibility and the angle of your knee if you shortened your stirrups by about two holes.
There is a lot to be said for riding without stirrups!
There is a little bit of collapsing in the abdomen over the fence, a good trick is to look at the sky as you go over the fence, which will cause your upper body to tense enough to stop the back arching or the tummy collapsing.

Over all, your position is good and I like how you follow the horse. Good job and beautiful horse by the way!

I agree, get those heels down and your good - riding bareback may help

Thank you everybody!!!! I always like critiques! I have been developing "trainer equitation" since I haven't been thinking about my position and all about him and I haven't had a jump lesson since March. Thank you all I will try to remember and work on them! Believe it or not my toe could almost touch my shin that's how far my heels used to be haha!
